Red 340 GL for sale

Post by Countrygirl » 12 Jan 2008 08:10 pm

Hello folks,

Would anyone be interested in buying my 340 GL? Stored in a garage all its life it has maintained its lovely red colour. Here are all the details:

340 1.7 GL (petrol)
F Reg
Full service history
MOT til Aug 08
Taxed til end May 08
Mileage :98,587
One owner since new, we inherited it a month ago and ran it a couple of times
Recent new battery
Interior is clean and the tyres are good.

It has a medium sized dent in the offside front wing. It runs ok but could do with some tuning. Can be difficult to start in cold weather but that would probably be cured quite easily by one of you experts!

My hubby has bought me a new car, hence the sale of the volvo. I'm looking for £200.

I'm in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Feel free to message me for any more info. :)

The last thing I need is another car (up to 5 300s alone now), and it's a 500 mile round trip from Sunderland, I have no money, and no time to come get this.
But.... it's really nice. There's a chance I'll be doing some bike riding in Glentress soonish, which is nearly halfway, so I could be persuaded to make a weekend of it and collect the car.

Realistically it's quite a long shot as it depends on making some space in my unit, and wouldn't be before the end of the month (payday  ).
So if you still have it then, and Sven doesn't find summit under the sofa (see other thread), I'll take it.

This car collecting is like bulimia, except that when I make myself sick, no cars come back up...

It sounds like you need to find a new Hubby, not a new car.........

Don't let it be scrapped! There's a perfectly fine 360 GLT in the yard near me and I can't work out why it was binned. If you have a deadline just PM me and I'll see what I can do to save it.

filthyjohn,

hubby is giving me a chance to re-home her so don't worry. She had one owner before me, a lovely old gent and I want the car to go to a good home in memory of him. Hubby will only scrap her as a last resort...but we have to be realistic, she's sitting there taxed, etc and we're not running her....bit of a waste really, in all respects.

Yeah I agree, too many of these cars fall into disuse and end up scrapped through simple lack of demand. I'll see what I can do about re-homing her, if there's absolutely no way I can provide a home, I might even be persuaded to pick her up for somebody further south. Meanwhile, feel free to let her go to someone more local.

Hi Oliver,

Here's a couple more pics showing the dent and the minimal rust at bottom of doors.
