Cheap as chips

Post by workshopmanualman » 14 Feb 2008 08:45 pm

Tad rusty in some nasty areas, but seems mechanically good, so why so cheap?

Prices on the way down? This car sold for less than the price of a decent service. Ouch!

The rust around the windscreen would be quite a pain to fix. Less rust, PAS, Volvo service history and one owner (this one has 9  ?) would have been enough to treble what that one went for I'm sure ...

...but I've seen spares only cars with no MOT or tax go for more!

[Looking at the photographs again though, one of the sills appears about to burst open in the usual spot, so perhaps this was just one of those shiny cars on top, but actually knackered underneath. The sills may be cheap enough to patch, but that windscreen area suggests severe rot in the main body if water has been allowed to enter?]
