i have doors off a 3 door but think there mk2/3 are you looking for mk1? if so what the difference?

Yeah I am after mk1. I have seen them on at least one mk2 though, like an early 360 with some 343 bits still on it. Bastard thing was only a year older than mine too!
The earlier doors have quarter lights and the mirrors on the door skin mate.

I've been on the lookout for a pair of early doors with quarter lights, but I need even older (for the interior trim to fit) Mk1. I don't expect to find any easily. If you do find some that are ultra early, I've been told the door card fitting is different to the Mk 2/3 let me know. If I come across any Mk 2 quarter light doors I'll let you know! I do have some on Foggy's old A reg 360 but they are shockingly rusty

nah, theres only a passenger side and a boot lock left. ill try and find another driver side

and no ive got none that early, some mk1 doors had opening quarter lights, you want to find some of them uber rare haha

Yeah I was told the door card fitting/mechanisims are different too. I was also told that the quarter light type doors won't fit a mk1 shell? I find this hard to believe as without seeing one I am 99% sure the shell is the same still.

If I find any early jobs I will give you a shout mate! How rusty are we talking here? I would even have some as a side project to do over the summer. I get the feeling I can't be too choosy when it comes to condition lol. Especially as you are so close!
What do you reckon, saveable with work? Will you sell them on? etc.

Finally, just to clarify here, there are mk1 doors, early mk2 doors and mk2/3 doors yeah? Mk1 aren't supposed to fit a mk2 shell but obviously early mk2 (I will call them that) with quarter lights/mk2 and mk3 doors are interchangable? I'm guessing I have this right. I reckon the shell remained basically the same since the start tbh, my inner wing looks very mk1.

I could be wrong but I would think all doors fit all cars! (excluding internal trim fitting, but I've never tried) My Mk1 (1980) and my previous MK (1976/77) both had fixed closed quarter lights. I've never heard of them opening at all (rear windows yes of course). My idea is to find any door in good condition and cut the bottom off (assuming it's not the correct 1980 door!) and adapt it to replace the bottom of the old 1980 door while keeping the internal bits, renewing up to the center line on the outside only.

The doors I have are detached from the bottom edge and very very rotten, I could post pics 3moro

That would be my take on the door fitment too mate. Not a bad plan to repair yours. Can you not just reskin? I know I say 'just' but is it possible to repair yours this way?

Problem is the bottom edge of the door has gone on the MK1, nothing to re-skin to

Very cool. Can't help thinking that getting a standard set chromed would be quicker than waiting for another set to come along, though! Can't be many left now...
