How's me powered windows and mirrors?Chris_C wrote:Erm.... 300 amp and radiator cover yet Jeroen? *ducks* Hows me snowcap?

I'm willing to split the postage on those items... Postage for the snowcap is paid for.
300 amp? The 4 x 20W amp? That's a bit to weak for my likes... my HU is 4 x 50...
Radiator cover is quite ugly and useless, so that is not on my list...
If I find any of these, I will keep them, just for having them...

Ah yes, but those are 4x50 BS watts. I bet the 4x20w amp is actually more powerful...in real terms. I've yet to encounter a head unit which comes close to matching the grunt my "4x45w" JL Audio amp will produce, despite the average HU claiming more power!

Jeroen, done deal on splitting the postage, I was gonna suggest it. Ofcourse, if postages are similar, then I'll happily cover my end of course!!! So do you have the cap? And once I get Beast apart, I'll get these bits off to you.

Bump.
Jeroen...I'm getting ready to order these AC bits. Phase one will probably be about 60% of a system - minus compressor, condensor, drier, and wiring. All but the wiring can be sourced elsewhere, and the wiring is cheap to ship when we find a kit from an 86+ car. Are you definitely interested?
cheers

The condensors are mostly leaky at this age, so we'll not bother with one of those. The compressor can be sourced from a 7/900, so that's less shipping cost. The drier needs changing for an R134a one, and the wiring is currently unavailable, but cheap to get shipped at a later date.
The stuff left (ie: what's being shipped now) is the bracket, the evaporator, the expansion valve, and the hoses. The cost for that stuff is ~£100 plus shipping...which will be up to £50. I might be able to get another condensor on the cheap if you'd like it.
cheers

most important part; evaporator
also important, tubing&hoses
expansion valve.
exept the 2 radiators (condenser/evaporator) and the switch assy, almost anything on a aircon kit can be obtained from other cars or general parts supply. (tubing&hoses. quite expensive)
R12; forget it. your best bet is in renewing all connections and flexibles, fill with non-CFC coolant, and hope for the best (1 refill per year?)
unchanged R12 aircon installations go flat in 3 months with modern coolant.
Greetings Wouter
