Right, as theres not alot of interest in this, I'd actually prefer if someone wanted the car for free, then come and get it! Otherwise, spares up for grabs! I've milked "I might have someone interested" to my parents already

Darn that's tempting even though I'm not looking for a car, and have no knowledge to do the gearbox change :( What's she like rust wise?

I don't mean to lead you on, the chances of me buying a car now are nearly 0.

Surly there's someone with the knowledge out there to save her, put in a gearbox and sell her...

Well it has rust, but its very structurally sound - more so than my saloon. The sills are solid, and the front valance has barely any rust. It has rust on one of the rear doors, sunroof panel and passenger side arch. A couple of dents on 2 doors. Though if Pete is breaking his Saloon then black panels will be easy to get hold of.

There are a few complete 360 transaxles available at the moment too for around the £50 mark. If you've got the time, space and knowledge then it'd make a good car! It doesn't deserve to be scrapped!

No, she mustn't be scrapped, I remember being impressed by her back at our Devon meet, and it's underneith where rust really matters. Being one of the latter ones would I guess she has the waxoil stuff inside?

Someone really has to get her if you're giving her away. In fact if someone else would replace the gearbox and get her running I'd really struggle to hold onto £50

*must resist urge* :(

Fixed up she must be worth alot more than that... Come on someone, fix 'er up :D

I'm only giving it away because I'd simply rather it wasn't scrapped - there's a scarce amount of 360s about as it is! But if theres no interest it will have to be parted, theres only so long it can sit on my front lawn. I could do with nicking some bits for my saloon - but I'd sacrifice that for someone to fix it up!

Good on you, we just need to find someone with the knowlege as it's a super car and a bargain at £50.

Why was I not born with mechanical skill :( I'm sure if she was working you'd have no problem shifting her. I'm guessing you don't think you could do it yourself, I have no idea what kind of job it'd be, but it sounds bad

It would not be too difficult.

Maybe get a secondhand gearbox and diff and send it to a mechanic to fit. Would not be much more than 50 quid i recon to fit

Yeah, that would only be about £100 total, but in the 360 Death post, severall people thought that it would be fairly easy to do on a drive with help from a few friends.

Perhaps I should drop my mate a call who's a mechanic, get him to estimate what a garage might charge...

I don't have the time or space to do it myself, if I wasn't on a placement year working 9-5 I'd have alot more time on my hands to figure it out :(

It's also MOT'd til August 2006, so theres not alot to worry about there!

If its just the diff/gearbox and no spline damage (which would be very noisy) then it can be swapped over inside 2-3hrs. I've done extensive work on 360 gearboxs/torque tubes, feel free to ask for help. If you were local, I have a spare gearbox/diff I could sell.
