Just out of interest, does anyone know if three-stud alloys from citroen, peugeot or renault cars of a similar period would fit on the hubs of a 66?

Not without widening the holes in the rims a bit...
But it is not to much work if you have some metalshop tools.
You can order Minilites with custom made holes though... I think they would look great on a Daf...

Why would you want to do that? The daf has a more classic look which I like.
The Daf 66 and Volvo 66 look almost identical! I want a Volvo 66 so it's a Volvo :D Since it'll be a 2.0 when I'm done, free tax is very appealing!

Good luck fitting a 2.0 in... even a 1.4 is tight...
Even if you go for the 1.4 GT Turbo you'll have to lose the heater...
With a 2.0 you wil have to lose the radiator aswel... I think it will get a bit warm without a radiator...

Heater problem solved...

Radiator can be put in to the trunk/back of the car. :P

Here the price varies from free and rusty up to €5000 and absolutely wonderfull...
It depends on what the owner wants for it and how badly he wants to part from it / and how much you want to spend on it and how badly you want it.
Fuse wrote:Radiator can be put in to the trunk/back of the car. :P
I would not want to drive that in summer...
And if I see you driving in a car modified like that I will shoot you for raping such a rare and special car...

I am going to install an N/A 1255cc engine of a Renault 8 Gordini in it.
That was an official race engine for ralley Dafs.
It delivers 103 BHP @ 6750RPM and 120NM @ 5000 RPM. Max RPM = 7500RPM!
High rev engines are ideal for Daf's Variomatic.
Daf won almost every race they entered with this engine...

I'd not want to cut up a nice example. It'd have to be a scruffy one, otherwise to be scrapped.

I have a body for you... for free...
It needs welding on the sills and the rear arches...
You can built your own suspension system and engine in it.
The only problem may be it has no number and plates...
