Maybe if it doesn't sell now, I get this job, and get a place with a garage for the 5dr... :D

Hello and welcome djbolf, well done on the auction, if the car lives up to the description you've got a lot of nice motor for your money. Have you owned Volvo 300's before, or are you new to the experience? I hope you find the forum helpful in maintaining and enjoying you new purchase.

OMG

Just driven the 258 miles back , 1/2 a tank of fuel.

The car appears to be a minter , almost showroom condition.

Will post pics and more thorough report tomorrow when daylight is on my side.

Well, if the gauges are anything like I've experienced, it'll stay near the top for a long time........... then suddenly the fuel gauge will drop past about 1/3 full. So don't assume it's half full when the guage is pointing vertically! You'll probably not do the same amount of milage from the first part of the gauge to vertical as you will from the second part of the the tank from the vertical to empty, don't become a Foggy trying! I can't remember exactly, but the GLT tanks are split into two, and I believe the bottom edges are quite rounded, reducing the capacity in the bottom of the tank, but the sender will measure the level, not the actual amount of fuel left in litres.

Sounds like the car really is one of those occassional rare finds, a late, mint 360 GLT. Good work that man, enjoy it.

That sounds like anti '40 gauges... you can't stay on the full line ever (then again, I need to fix my leaked tank, I can only stick £20 in at a time). Beasts was confused... the float sender had no damping, you could watch the needle move on hills.
