as I said it wont start at the moment despite Mr Farrells best efforts (kept muttering something about bloody carbuerettor , if it was injection I would have it running by now ) As its a petrol fault and the car is grey ,

LOL! Well, not owning a carb version of the 360 made this a tad harder, and time contraints didn't help, as I'd have got stuck in, but we had to be quick! I'm quite sure there was a lack of fuel, most probably the pump, but limited tools meant I couldn't get a pipe off to check if it was pumping fuel. The choke cable seemed dodgy too, as it'd pull the choke out, but it wouldn't return.

So, with little time left it was towed. Looks like a nice car really, not too much rust, not in the worst of places anyway, but a dent here and there. We decided it did once have foglights mounted on the grille, we found the holes and the blue foglights switch, similar to a 300 one, fits well, same style, maybe from a 200?

I've a couple of pics from the day, will post them later if I get a chance.

Since Mr Farrell has said it's totally dead (no hint of catching), here's my mini-checklist...almost certainly incomplete :)...

First stop...check you're getting spark (and that the plugs are in good shape), check for fuel in the carb (remove inlet, watch for pump jets squirting as you tweak the throttle), and fuel delivery (pull the inlet hose from the carb and crank it over). Beyond that....it should just start :D

Fuel supply is the overwhelmingly likely cause here. Did you try cranking it for 15 seconds plus, just in case it was a simple case of the fuel needing to be pumped forwards?

cheers

oh yes we cranked , and we cranked and then we cranked some more , put a recently charged battery on and cranked for a bit longer ,

will probably buy a new pump off ebay ( there are a couple listed as long as they are the right ones ),and change plugs dizzy cap and rotor to give it a good chance

The pumps aren't famed for failing...see if the carb has fuel, and take it from there :D

cheers
