Big job to replace the complete front panel, and your bits are not rusty, just need to depanel, beat out and reweld. MInd you you could put fogs in then.

+1, this is a huge job to fit properly, I'd only consider it if rebuilding a car after a front end smash... I think. Depends how ninja you are really!

I sniffed this out and my Spidey senses told me to end my barren V3M spell. Well, not really. VND told me, and I was coming on here anyway. :D

So yeah, I need this too. As I currently have no front panel at all on my car. If anyone bidding/thinking of bidding on it wants a NOS Volvo mk3 item instead, then I will happily swap you. This one;

I was about to fit it to my shell, and then modify the valance so it looks like a mk2 affiar, a shame to do this though if someone can use it as it is?

Thomas, I forgot all about your car mate! Paypal me a tenner (liamwaites@hotmail.co.uk) to cover the courier and I will send you my old front section that I previously promised you if you still want it? Sorry about that.

I also see I have four PM's, but no email alert :/ Apologies folks, I will get right on that.

Well chaps and chapesses, looks like we might have a bibbing war on  How do people feel about other forum members bidding against each other on e-bay? I've been looking for a new mk2 front panel for quite some time now,for a GLT that i'm in the process of fully restoring.
My front panel looks like this......

I dunno what the accepted fashion is on here where that is concerned tbh. Seeing as I already have a front panel, I won't pay daft money for this eBay one though. So I am probably one less to worry about, and damn do you need one!

Can't see me making the front panel on the car good again :( But consolation is, i've fitted quite a few in the past so i've got a good idea of whats involved.
I've read about the gentlemans agreement that was initialy decided on and that it worked first of all but theres so many members now it makes it very hard to adhere to.So in keeping to new agreement that was stated, i'm making it known that I intend to bid to buy on the front panel. :D
Cheers

I have won stuff in the past that was listed on here and I hadn't known, so guess I have stood on a few toes lol.

It's interesting you mention having fitted front panels in the past. Do you have any dimensions to work from? I never measured the old one, as was juts going to copy from a mates car, but a bodyshop repair manual or something would be far superior!
What's your plan mate?

With liams help, my car should be able to be fixed. As has been said, its not rusty so should be relatively easy to repair with regards to pulling it out and metal to weld to, how long it takes, thats another matter haha   I wont be bidding on the panel, as much as i love it, and just like to look at it and imagine it on the front of mine, i dont have the magic numbers to transfer to the seller, so in the words of the scary, and very rich.... 'I'm out'

Have fun :P

Original rules worked well when there was only 20 or so of us and when you could see the user ID of who was bidding.

As far as I'm aware, "the forum stance (tm)" on such is every nutter for himself on the bay now, but if you are selling it's generally nice to offer it to the community before it goes on the bay so the practise of "dibsies" can take place.

On the previous ones i fitted i find its a good idea to brace tops of the inner wings, from one side to the other, before cutting or taking anything off panel wise. This gives you peace of mind that they will stay exactly where they are. Then front wings off,and then all the spot welds holding the panel on.Tidy up all the drilled out spot welds on the front edges. Then refitting is the reversal of removal. Bit of primer, bit of paint jobs a guddan. :) If i get the panel that is.Gotta stop counting dem chickens

Lol. I meant do you have any dimensions to work from, other than just measuring a car.
As for bracing, I removed mine without and it hasnt budged. the two huge box sections see to that!
