Does no-one else smell a rat?
That *is* John's car in the picture, and as far as I'm aware John isn't dead, so his son (I don't think he has one, not that he could be old enough to use eBay anyway) won't be selling it. It could be being used as a library picture...but...
On top of that...22k, AC...yeah, right. Straight after that £800+ car? I think someone's having a go. I'd turn up to collect it with a burly mate at least.
cheers

i think you'd be ok - if the car isnt to description you can refuse to buy under ebay rules, and if they wanted to rip people off they'd probably choose a more valuble car than a volvo 360

I picked up instantly that it was John's car in the picture, so I emailled the person to ask for pictures of the actual car, and to confirm that like John's car it has the bodykit, and if the air con is for real. As yet, no reply. Using a picture for illustrative purposes is fine, however, there is no mention of it, so people could be fooled into buying a car that is not what is shown.

Very odd!
If it is being used as a library photo that is not John's driveway, might be his parents though..

Hello,
A bit worried when I looked at your comments ?! I have bid on the car! Emailed the guy no reply as to where he is in the UK...anyone else know?Is that right that the car illustrated is not the one for sale--that can't be right ? How do you know its someone elses vehicle? Obviusly the AC is b.....t .
In addition I found the car via the link you gave but its not in the volvo 360 section on ebay (general volvo section if you just search on volvo)perhaps thats why there are not many bids on it ?
Does anyone know that if you smell funny business on ebay if you can retract bids prior to the closing date...
So far all ebay purchases have been excellent inc a 1.4 340 which has been amazingly reliable and cheap ......
The low mileage 1.7 up here in Ayrshire previoulsy advertised has been sold (it was not the lowest mileage ever the lady misread the speedo!)

don't worry about it - the picture is not of the car but there could be a genuine reason for this (ie he has no pictures at the mo). aircon could exist in the car, but its rare. if hte car is not as described you are under no obligation to buy, so just go and have a look. i suspect the car will go for over £300 so you shouldnt worry if your bid was quite low
