Must sell 360 GLE

360 GLE from early 1988, 5dr, carb, steel wheels, no pas, no mods.

I bought this in 1999, so I've had it for half its life.
It's never let me down... even when the gear change came away from the torque tube
I could still drive it home ... welded back better than ever.

Last year's MOT passed with Advisory about signs of rust on sills and coil springs.
Needs new rear silencer box, and high time the cam belt was changed. Should have done
that when I changed the rad.

Near-side front wing a bit dented and piece of trim missing, due to lamp post which must
have moved while I was reversing.

MOT expires soon, 25th August 2011. Taxed to end of Aug.

It's done 106k, and feels like it could do a lot more, but I've just bought a newer car,
and must shift this one. Last trip was over 100 miles, so I've every confidence in it.
Car is located in Reading.
Not looking for much money... I'd like enough to buy 4 tyres for the new car, and I guess £200 is realistic.


Who will save it from the scrapyard?

It needs some TLC, but it's got plenty of life in it yet. Good on you for you trying to find a good home! My advice...if no-one on here bites soon, try eBay. Most people here already have too many 300s (5, in my case...), and the new buyers are often elsewhere.

Easiest would be to get £120 plus as scrap right away. Unless I set a high start price on ebay, it'll
maybe end as scrap anyway.

Or I might get rid of all my heritage computer junk filling a lock-up, and store it there till I get round to some restoration.

Still time though for one of you folks to drive it away ...

Start the bidding at £200 and you'll probably get some interest. They're starting to be worth more money now, so even the "needs some TLC" examples are worth more than scrap.

Everyone knows it's green that's unlucky, not red, metallic or otherwise. Would you call this one metallic? I'm no expert.

I'm just clearing out the garage.... 5 computers, 6 monitors, 40-years-worth of New Scientist magazine... all gone to the tip, so this car can retire in peace and darkness. It's james' fault, reminding me I didn't really want to get rid of it.

I used to have an Austin A35, reg VCR 139. That's a cathode ray tube... slightly more antique than a 386!

Engine/gearbox seem fine to me. Water pump is a bit noisy sometimes at first, but soon quietens down.

I also had an a35 as my first car reg NGD 136 (no 3 rd syncro or floor!)and took my test in it. They are worth more than 340 s now.
Are BBC comuters any value as I have 2 to get rid of?

Yes, it looks that way James. People either just want bits off it, or they're too far away to make collecting it easy.

It's now sharing a garage with some cycles and a lot of spiders. I must remember to start it every couple of weeks.
