The Pistonheads ad doesn't make it that clear that the car is complete and on the road. Maybe start the ad with this as the pictures of parts/engine out of the car give a different impression!

Well..........
I am the new owner of this car, and to say I am dissapointed by the seller 'Adam' is an understatement!
Just after the auction ending, I get a message from Adam asking for a £100 deposit through paypal to be deposited to his account, to which I replied, 'No, I can't, those funds aren't currently in there, but i am a man of my word, and what I say I'll do, I will'
The next day (I believe), I get a call saying that he has sourced the coupling for the car, it will cost £40, I said yes please and then sent £40 via bank transfer to his account.
On arranging the collection of the vehicle, I called a trailer hire company and Adam, making sure that A. a trailer was available and B. Adam was available.
The date was set, Thursday 16th Feb, obviously, coming from Essex, the journey was to be 2-3 hours depending of traffic and what speed I was able to maintain with my van (not the quickest without a trailer as it is).
Wednesday, I get a call from Adam saying he will not be at the address on that day for collection, but he can drop the car key to me, as he has it on him, and that his girlfriend need to leave for work a 11 am sharp tomorrow. Well okay, I'll do what I can to get there for that time.
Thursday comes, I leave from picking the trailer up at 8.05 am (place opens at , call adam to let him know I am on my way, satnav reckoned for me to get there at 10.45am. I constantly update him about every 45 mins to let him know my progress. During one of the calls, I also ask whether the camshaft/spare rear diff are waiting, to which I am told 'oh no, they are at my warehouse, and I will forward them to you'
I arrive at his address at 10.51, as I pull around the corner I see the car .... But hold on .... Where are the alloy wheels that were on the advertised car ? I now assume they are in teh boot of the car. I am greeted by his girlfriend who is hurrying me to get the docs signed so she can go to work, which I do. She goes off to work and I am then told, there is no one there to help me load the car on the trailer (which I was advised previously that there would be 4-5 people that could help push it on), I wasn't too phased, as the trailer I hired had a winch ... But if it hadn't ?? Anyway, I now go over the car, the wheels are not in the boot !
I then call Adam and ask where the wheels are that were on the advert on Ebay, he replies saying that the vehicle did not reach a high enough figure for the wheels to be included (oh, and the wheels on the car are mismatched volvo 3 series steel wheels), I replied saying that it did not mention anywhere on the listing what you have just said, and that I was sure, as I had just checked on my phone before calling, as I didn't want to look stupid. On looking at the wheels, I noticed that he had sheared off a rear wheel stud to get the alloys off, and wasn't going to mention this and that I would also need to buy a new set of wheels nuts as the ones fitted are just a mis match to hold the wheels on. Adam then replies that it also didn't mention on the listing that the wheels were included, now, if like me, you expect to buy what is pictured in the listing and it doesn't mention that they wont be included, what would you think ? Do you have to start asking whether the windscreen/doors/ bonnet are to be included in a sale ?
Adam then says, 'give me 5 minutes, and I will call you back', okay.
15 minutes later, I call Adam again, this time a little more annoyed, Adam tells me that I can have the wheels that were in the pic, but I will need to get a set of steel wheels to suit a VW polo as he has 'given' them away to a girl in Pitsea, now, it is not down to me to start chasing around getting wheels (and footing the bill) for a set, and adam in whinging that he shouldn't be shelling out for a set of wheels to suit her car, I am then told that he has a set of minilite wheels with tyres that I can have into the cost of the purchase, and that his brother will show me them, as they are in his back garden. I have a look, and I take them, not through choice, as I preferred the ones in the listing, but because I am due a set of alloy wheels (these will be sold).
Anyway, skip forward 11 days (in this time 3 text messages, and 1 message via Ebay) have been sent, and I have had no reply.
Now I know I am new to this board and that Adam has a few posts under his belt, but do you not see Adam as a person to avoid in future, as I sure think he is?
Oh, and to coin a phrase used by Adam to me 'What do you expect for what you paid' ....... I expect to buy what was in the listing, not what you think I should have once the auction has ended ...... A tip, there is a 'Reserve' option you can use.
I will let you guys know what I think of the car once i get the linkage fitted (haven't had time), but one thing I need to address is the bad metal work where the intercooler pipes pass through the front panel, it looks like someone has drilled a series of holes and then bent the piece of metal out once metal fatigue has set in, a file has not been near the sharp edges left, so I will be removing pipework etc, filing down, painting raw metal (which hasn't been done) and lining with a rubber door shut liner.

Sorry to hear this mess Hope you get it sorted! Really no need for it to end up like this in the first place imo. Disappointing.

Seems a poor show! I am sorry your start to Volvo 300 ownership has started so badly
Re: "JET" Volvo 360 Turbo!! - Price drop - £1300
No problem guys.
From the first contact with Adam, he did say he wanted a deposit as he had been messed around by timewasters ...... I am not one, and my word is my word.
I will put this behind me now and move on, there are more important things, I am sure I can live without the spare diff/glt camshaft, but as they were part of the listing (along with the wheels pictured on the car), I did expect them.
Anyway ....... Do any of you guys do track days ?

Re: "JET" Volvo 360 Turbo!! - Price drop - £1300
I do cheap motorsport when I can, I think now I'm closer to the midlands I'm going to give drift days a go. Sorry about the mess, but glad you've got the energy not to give up!
Re: "JET" Volvo 360 Turbo!! - Price drop - £1300
I can honestly say, I don't have to sink to the level of the seller, I'll jhust put it behind me, his feedback isn't great that I left him
As my dad always says :-
nil illegitimi carborundum
onwards and upwards.
The main reason for buying the car was that it was RWD and having the engine fitted that it does, should make for a fun track toy.
One of my other cars :-
The wheels are now in Black also, just to add to a more sleeper effect.
The mods for a volvo are a lot cheaper than that for my subaru , hence the reason for a volvo as a toy.

Brilliant! Yeah a 2.3 turbo should be quite the weapon! Whack that thing up to 12psi and you'll see redonkulous speeds.
