1991 - Peugeot 205 Diesel - £500 - Bristol - 60mpg

Post by Speedy88 » 04 May 2012 06:53 pm

Hi guys! I know this isn't Volvo content but this is a good honest cheap car from a good honest cheap person

Model: 205 GRD 1.8 diesel
Year: 1991
Mileage: 140k
12 months MOT

No swaps please

This car is perfect for cheap commuting. Save those precious pennies to spend on your favourite project. My fuel bills over the past 4 months have been halved.

Lovely little car with no rust.
Nippy in town while doing about 50mpg (60 if you coast down hills). Will do 60mpg+ on the motorway.
Lots of high end torque on the motorway, still pulls beyond 70mph.
Everything works as it should.
Very good condition for its age.
Engine is sweet as a nut.
Brand new starter and fuel solonoid.
Good battery.
No electrical problems.
Spare key included.
Feel free to ask questions.

Only complaints: Gearbox is a bit notchy but is to be expected from the mileage.
Central locking works for the drivers door and boot, but other doors you'll have to open manually.

No tax but can do so at cost.

Well I've been thinking and with work schedules and peak sales times, I think Sunday would be a good time to stick it on ebay. I'll put it on for 7 days ending next Sunday.

I don't think the slight gain in mpg is worth the massive loss of bhp in that particular case dude.

Speedy, has your 205 got a Bosch pump, or is it just the n/a jobs that like vegertayble juice?

Fraid it's a Lucas which is feeble for the veg oil. It would work for a bit but yeah, the seals will perish and the pump start leaking.

Could always run it on engine oil...

This IS an NA mate! I don't think any 205s had a bosch pump, I know 405s are ok on veg though, and they had the same 1.9 TD as the later 205s.
