Mk 2 Gold 360 GLS 5 door
12 months M.O.T.
Tax untill end of October 2012
Insured by me at the moment for test drives
Currently dry garaged as it has been always (according to previous owner)
2.0 B19 carb engine with electronic ignition
88154 miles
First Registered 09/11/83
5 door
Met Gold (Beige on V5c )
Former keepers 2 (I'm the 3rd, 1st and 2nd were Mr. and Mrs. original purchasers)
Original service book stamped to 59,523 miles, many if not all receipts up to and after. Not many past M.O.T.s however, although loads of the receipts are timed with the annual M.O.T. date so show that work was done for the M.O.T. each year.
Despite all the paperwork I can find no record of a cambelt change since 24/05/93 at 55,000 miles
YES 1993 Chist almighty, I was sill a student then
Needless to say I've not driven the car very much but enough to know that drivers and stops perfectly.
I priced up a cam belt kit the other day at about £50 and I'm sure I can fit it. For the cost of the belt kit extra (about £50) I'll fit it free for the buyer who pays the price below.
It goes without saying that the belt needs doing before the car goes anywhere under it's own power.
Bad bits
Yes there is cosmetic rust, the front valance is starting but better than many I've seen, the lower front wings are a bit rusty very low down. There is a hole under the battery tray and a small hole in the rear arch (inner arch not visable outside). Advisories that need doing to preserve the long term future of the car in regular use. The brake pipes have been sprayed with black stuff which when scrapped off shows good metal beneath.
£685
Before anyone makes any comments,
Yes it is more than I paid for it, but I took a gamble in a hurry as it then had only 1 1/2 months M.O.T. and I didn't even look underneath it. I've also had to M.O.T. and insure it.
Yes it is more compared to what some cars go for/have gone for in the past but then again, a 1.4 went for £543 yesterday and another (lower mileage) 1.4 went for £871, both on ebay. A similar (3 door same colour) GLS did go on ebay for only £160 a while ago but that had no tax, no M.O.T. gearstick problems, a dent in the front wing/bumper and a very rusty bit (but it had some rare wheels )
No I don't expect it to sell quickly if at all at that price, but then again I don't really want to sell it
Edit: 5 Good tyres, nothing expensive but quite new as far as I remember.

Ooooh, B19. Looks great mate - GLWTS. Little over what I want to pay unfortunately but I hope you'll stick it on ebay if it doesn't sell on here.

Seems pretty fair to me, nice car! That 3 door one on eBay was nowhere near as good as this

Re: Mk 2 Gold 360 GLS 5 door
I really like it, and I'd like to see what a 2-litre 300 is like to drive, but I really don't think I can justify another one!
Hope it goes to a good home.

Hi Andy.
If its anything like the condition of the green one you had in Yorkshire,it will be worth
the money. I hope it goes to a good home. Good luck.
Cheers Mark.

Re: Mk 2 Gold 360 GLS 5 door
It's not as low mileage/rust free as that one sadly, but above average. Remember how minor blemishes don't show up in photos! I'd say it's about as good as any one of this age can be with normal usage and regular garaging. It's not been abused, just regularly mainatained and garaged all it's life. I'd say it's seen all weather use, there is some rust starting but it's at a point where a lttle bit time and effort could prolong it's life indefinatley and keep it looking good. Certainly not a new sills, and valance job or anything that means an M.O.T. failure at the moment.
I'll update with more photos and maybe do the timing belt soon.

Shame it was not fuel injection or maybe a good as thing or I would have been very tempted even though I'm not supposed to collect any more cars

Re: Mk 2 Gold 360 GLS 5 door
Better it's not injected IMO. There's very little difference between a B19A and B200E. If anything the B19A has a sharper throttle response, even if it isn't quite as quick outright.

For running on petrol yes carb is nicer. But as you know I don't like running a car on gold and EFI has many advantages for LPG
