360 GLT Saloon Limited Edition

Post by petefarrell360 » 13 Jul 2005 12:34 am

I'm posting this advert on behalf of my Dad, Michael, who has decided it's time his 360 GLT goes to a good home. Probably not the best place to advertise it really, as most of us all have at least one 300, but should anyone fancy this car, or know someone who might, it could be worthwhile.

Black Metallic, Limited Edition Volvo 360 GLT, 4 door saloon.

First registered 24.03.1987, D776 WFW. 2 owners from new, with Volvo folder, owners manual, old MOT's and service records to 1997. Both original keys present.

The speedo is showing 84,000 miles, however the speedo was replaced due to a fault and the actual mileage covered is 114,600, there is an invoice to substantiate this from H.P. Firman, dated 07.03.1994

The car has been standing outside for sometime now, but the engine was last running in 2002. Just before being laid up, the car had a new timing belt and water pump, exhaust and service. When last used in 1997 the car ran extremely well, everything was tight and sound. The only fault I was aware of then was a whine, which was coming from the nearside rear wheel bearing.

The car will require some minor work to re-commission. There is some corrosion on the n/s front wheel arch area, a minor dent in the n/s front door, above the door handle since standing and minor corrosion on the offside rear wheel arch on the return edge flange. The interior is very clean and undamaged, the car in general is very original and totally complete, with spare wheel, jack and brace.

Well worth saving by a 360 enthusiast.

I'm not looking for a fortune, I'd like it to go to a good home, so please make me an offer.

Please contact me, Pete, via my email or send me a PM and I'll either answer any questions, or put you in direct contact with my Dad via phone. Thanks.

Pete

I believe it relates to this anniversary model.

The actual car, not the best of pictures, can get take some more on request. The reversing lenses are with the car, removed before they fell out, so they didn't get lost, nicked or broken.

Bump........

Just to see if there is any interest at all? My Dad has decided it's going one way or another. Personally I don't want to see this car scrapped, but it may come to that if no one wants it. So.............. any takers? Might have some more pics, which I'll post later.

I actually think saloons look really good. If I didn't have the 1.4 Variomatic my beautiful 360 GLT hatch and too many other projects I would really consider keeping this for myself. However, space is the issue and a major lack of it!

BUMP!
Right guys, last chance, it's going, I'll start the nasty task on Saturday of stripping it, unless someone shouts, shout now, don't delay. £50 and it's yours, as the space is needed asap!

Nah, not yet......... thought I'm sure he'll find one more to add to them all! Things have to change, there is a new storage item on it's way, so maybe somewhere for my Volvo parts to live in the dry. But Mum is not happy...... daily comments, so anyone who wants to save a 360 GLT saloon, let me know.

Pete,

Have been thinking it over for a while, as a black saloon would partner mine v.nicely. However space (or lack of) & the logisitics (hiring a trailor again !) of getting it up here are a problem ! Is there anything on it saying it is what it is & are there any extras i.e. leather & a/c as per the GLE limited Editions ?

Cheers,

John :360:

Hi John,
Well, there isn't anything on the car saying it's a limited edition, as your a VOC member, you should have access to the brochure for the GLT anniversary edition, which I think they have on there. Sadly there are no special extras, just the standard GLT toys. It does have recirc fitted, though it has been disconnected under the bonnet from the vacuum pipe, I think the pipe got hot and melted, then they taped it over, but who knows!? It isn't running at the moment, 90% sure it's the fuel pump, but as no one was interested, and I didn't have time, it was also very wet, I haven't got much further in trying to sort it. But at £50.......... let me know! I know what you mean about trailering cars about, and space...... well!

Well, it's my Dad's, we have hardly any space left, I'd like to keep it, but I've too many of my own projects. It's a shame, as it is a limited edition and all, but he's decided it must go, due to space, or I'd keep it, but I've no where else ot store it!
