Spotted: Bonnet 363 CS

Post by TheUglyDuckling » 21 Mar 2013 08:07 pm

Hi guys,

I have been pointed to this bonnet - apparently a genuine Volvo 363 CS bonnet. Since it doesn't fit too easily on my Mk3, I thought I'd share :D

Hold your horses and calm down.

It is just a regular bonnet for the early B19's with the old nose (1981).
There are more bonnets left than there are cars.

The real 363Cs used a modified early bonnet, it didn't need the bump.

Later in the 80's, the original flat bonnet was actually dropped from the lists so Volvo didn't have to continue producing / storing two bonnet types. So these days you tend to come across more NOS "humped" bonnets than regular ones, as these fitted both B19 and B14 <=1981 cars.

Cheers

Horses have been reined in. They are pretty docile anyway, so no calming needed.

But they still wonder - the 363 CS pics I had found show the same humpy bump. So that's a standard bonnet?

It originally had a custom made bonnet I believe, need to look in my archive.
