I thought I would post this up here, just in case someone is interested in a very early '77 model year car ('76 built), which looks to be in pretty good condition. It's failed its MOT on some pretty minor points, is pretty pricey, oh, and it's in Norway.

Closer than Canada! Does look in good shape. I have all the bits the fix the bumpers. The front number plate has been put in the wrong place! Pity the steering wheel is on the wrong side
Yes a bit pricey when you add on getting it back. Did it cost much to import yours? I don't meen the transport, did they charge for the registering process?

That is very close to where my brother lives and the airport is also nearby.
Registartion does not cost much, its just a very long drive back.

55 quid first registration fee for any car, import or not.
Norway might be slightly different (non-EU), but I suspect not as it is EEA.
Bringing one in from outside EEA is 10% duty + 20% VAT on landed cost (vehicle+shipping+insurance, etc.) and £55 to register.

To be honest, this has not been a problem for me. I was terrified to start with, but after a few drives I just got used to it. It's only reversing that I sometimes get a little confused! I think the fact that you don't have to keep reaching for the gearstick helps.
And yes, Rich is correct about the UK registration. It was actually so much easier than I was expecting, and quick.

I drove a LHD 440 for a year, soon got used to it, infact changing gear with the right hand seamed natural after a while!
I did notice the overspray on the heater intake too. The inner arch looks a bit suspect, like it's coming away.
You've got to admire the fact that the car still exists at all, whatever condition it's in, the seat material looks to have survived very well indeed, probably the hardest thing to replace.
