Breaking 1.4 DL

Long story short I bought this yesterday with the intention of putting it back on the road, but have just discovered the status of the car is scrapped.

Bodywork wise, none of the panels are really usable but the mechanicals are fine, it drives okay despite how it looks.
The interior is also fine.

Ok man, I'll have the bumpers off you and the leaf springs. Also, what year is the car as I might be interested in the speedo cable if its a late model? The photos are evil. I knew you wouldn't be without a 340 for long. Incidentally, your rear wheel arch is being welded on next week!!

Car is a 1988 model, it's really unfortunate it's registered as scrap as we basically dragged it out of a hedge yesterday, got it running and it was happy to drive around.
I scrapped my last one because the rear arches were rotten - they're fine on this, but everything else is absolutely knackered.

Image

I'm glad the arch got to you okay, I think I'll cut the ones off this for future use.
Let me know re speedo cable, might be a week or two before I can get the leaf springs off though as need to move the car around in the unit to make way for a polish pickup...

And the funny story about the registration plates is the old guy I got it off took them off as he is worried when he sells a car people will put the plates on a different car and rob a bank. :?:

Cheers man, I'll have the speedo cable as a spare then, please. I might also be persuaded to take the struts as spares, too. How good are the cups on them?? Is the £35 for one or both (or maybe I shouldn't have asked)?? The bloke was probably sensible.... knew someone who had their plates nicked off a white van and the tea-leaves used them to fill-up their otherwise identical van at a petrol station and drove-off without paying... nice ploy. On a serious note, absolutely everything on that car is worth saving if you have the time and patience to remove it and keep it, even stuff like the door glass is wanted by folk from time to time on here.

I may be keeping the front struts as a friend of mine is potentially selling me his on the road 340, but it needs a new spring cup.
I'll take £4 for the speedo cable if that sounds okay, though.
Perhaps, however I'm not sure where you find an identical car :D

£4 done deal. Can I have the wing mirrors also? I'll tot this up at some stage, fairly soon, hopefully. Does it have headlamp wiper motors?? Gold-dust is the indicator mounting bracket.

Wing mirrors no problem £7 for the pair.
It does have headlamp wipers but I've no idea if they work or not, I also have the headlamp wiper motors from my silver 340.
