that made me laugh.SteveP wrote:Get out
If it is okay to list it I will write up a proper advert tomorrow
Re: mk2 golf
1985 C reg
120k miles
Will be sold on original steel wheels not the ATS Cups
Good points
1.3 (HK) engine, I have converted it from a pierburg to a 32/34 dmtl weber (fully rebuilt by me) a few weeks ago and has done less than 100 miles. This has made a huge improvement to the performance and it sounds good
Lowered on coilovers (fitted not by previous owner but the one before) I'm not too sure how lowered it is and what brand (I think JOM Bluelines) but it handles so well and the ride isn't too hard tbh.
Eyebrow spoiler combined with 7 slat grille and xenon bulbs means it looks quite menacing from the front
Completely original type 19 style not modified to have big bumper spec etc.
5 months MOT (passed with no advisories)
Apparently an uncommon colour Quartzy Grey metallic and has grandad spec interior... Brown, brown and more brown with decadent chrome strip on door cards so very retro.
When fitting the weber I converted it from the cam operated pump to an electric pump with a fuel pressure regulator.
4 speed box is very smooth in all gears and is good for over 80mph
Good tread on tyres (will have to check exactly how much)
Glass sunroof (not sure if original or dealer option but it says 1985 on it) doesn't leak
A few weeks ago I replaced the following
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Coil
Rotor arm
Condensor
Also filed down and reset the points gap
Bad Points
Currently not running, I was driving it today and in the middle of town on a very busy roundabout it died (oh how fun) however I won't actually sell it until it is running so fear not.
Front grille most of the clips are either broken or worn down so it the remaining clips are forced up with bits of cable tie (it holds and can't see them)
At some point it has had a slight knock on the front because drivers side indicator is a bit loose, bumper was screwed onto bumper bar, metal bumper bar is a little bent and there's a small crack in the edge of the bumper (none of which can be seen now I have fitted the bumper properly)
Steel wheels the paint has flaked off so they don't look the best.
Rear arches have rust (have a pair of new arches from vw heritage to go with the car)
Paint is definitely not the best.
Rear wiper is tied up and disconnected (never bothered to look why as never needed it tbh)
Drivers seat the bolster is worn and frayed, both front seats something digs into your back but nothing some retro beads can't fix.
Rear speakers don't like bass (fairly certain all speakers are the original ones!)
Window scrapers are past their best, part of one is missing so rain can get behind door card on passenger side
Small stone chips have some surface rust on them
Will get more photos of the damage etc tomorrow.
£1000 ONO car located in Worcester
Please contact me via pm with contact info as I don't want to post my number online
So peeps spread the word, the chavmobile is up for grabs.
Will swap Golf (not including ABF package) for a saloon Volvo 340 1.7 plus cash my way
£600 for all the ABF conversion package too (fully rebuilt gti rear beam has been shot blasted, painted and new OEM bushes fitted)
Cheers
Luke
