Re: Performance parts cat
Using the web shop - http://www.classicswede.co.uk/ has helped a lot with keeping track of orders and stock levels. A great improvment and I have been able to get all orders out promptly.
I'm going through all my stock of 3 series spares and adding them to the web shop. I have gathered up a lot of parts and I'll never need all of it myself so it will become available as I sort everything out.
This winter should see a lot more upgraded parts and PU bushes.

Re: Performance parts cat
Hello Dai,
that webshop looks good! I've put in my first review, for the rear leaf spring bushes I bought from you last year. I can only see front lowering springs though, IIRC you also sell standard-spec ones? I'm interested in replacement springs for my GLT, but without any additional lowering.
I'd always thought GLT springs were shorter than other B200E-engined 300's but that doesn't appear to be the case, at least for MkIIIs. The Volvo parts catalogue lists the correct part as being 3201819 - that's for all MkIII B200E-engined 300s (except Australia).
The "technical specification" green book lists the following specs:
B19E (1984) | B200 | B200 GLT
Free length: 308mm
number of coils: 6.5
wire diameter: 11.9mm
coil diameter: 116
http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =36&t=7259
page number 71
Any chance of ordering a set of those? I've got no idea about "poundage" etc. etc ...
Cheers

Re: Performance parts cat
Hi Tom,
thanks for the reveiw. I should have made the web shop a long time ago!
I can produce some standard springs or we could tweak them a little stiffer but still reatain the original ride height.
If you are wanting to the car to sit as it does now if you measure the disctance from the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch I can make a spring to match that at whatever stiffness you want.

Re: Performance parts cat
I don't really want the car to sit as it does now, as I'm pretty sure the front end is lower than it should be after 223,000kms on its original springs and original shocks. As for stiffness - I would just like the spring to be as close to OEM as possible, whatever that is, the only spec I have being the details listed in the green book. It'd be great if someone had an original 3201819 B200E spring to compare to.
In that pic, the front end looks pretty saggy in my opinion, even if the 13" alloys don't help the look of it much
Cheers
Tom
PS I'll be fitting Koni 86 2182 dampers, if that makes any difference ... The rear already has Koni 80 2351, along with your leaf spring polybushes. The front end will need some Dai polybush magic too

Re: Performance parts cat
it does look to have sagged. In a old thread comparing cars with original springs ther
e was over 50mm variation. That is why I asked how you wanted it to sit, fitting factory spec springs is going to raise the front a fair bit. I do have some data for the springs but not sure if there is any differnce between normal 360 and GLT. It might pay to make them just a little stiffer to work better with dampers. Do you want them factory black?

Re: Performance parts cat
Yes, definitely black - so the TÜV guy doesn't start asking questions I will have the Konis on the softest setting, and won't be shaving Nürburgring lap times or anything, so they don't really need to be stiffer than normal unless you recommend otherwise ...
Here's the green book data I have:
1984 model year
across the V300 range, all cars lowered by 10mm (front) and 15mm (back), achieved using
* shorter coil springs
* different-shaped leaf springs
* different strut inserts
according to the parts catalogue and the tech specs green book, injected 360 springs should all be the same and were the shortest available (308mm from 1984 on). Carb fed 360s rode slightly higher, and then they got taller and taller as the engine gets smaller - diesel cars being the "tallest" (maybe because of extra weight?)
Cheers

How customisable is that manifold Dai? As in if I said I wanted something varied a bit, that is neither of the flanges

I think I'm testing out the first batch? Dai sent me some out today and loaned me an alignment tool to make sure it all lines up so I think they will be up for sale now/soon?
