360gle needs new home and tlc

Post by Phil » 11 Nov 2005 03:29 pm

Our 360gle B Reg is slowly dying and I no longer have the time or inclination to keep it going.

Troubles: New clutch installed and reinstalled by cowboy resulting in first gear judder when warm, and judder over 65mph (torque bar? Not wheel alignment). Also I don't think he put the exhaust/inlet manifold back properly as it is now blowing somewhere under the carb. Repacement o/s reardoor sprayed nearly the same colour as rest of car and does not central lock like the other three. Engine is oily (lots of short school runs with manual choke out) and recently more water than usual coming out of exhaust.

Good bits: No obvious rust, 80K with two owners, nice shiney bodywork (notwithstanding a couple of dents and an off colour door), all original, very good interior (except for the dog hairs), taxed and MoT'd.

Located SE London. I'd rather not scrap it...anybody interested

Tax and MoT next to next May (06).

Did a bit of work over the weekend. No loger blowing. Wasn't manifold, gung in the choke mechanism on the carb.

I'll have a go at the over 65mph shaking next - might have a lumpy tyre.

There is oil running into the front two spark plugs - and still more than usual water coming out of the exhaust. Water could be that its a lot colder outside but bit worried about the oil. Are these signs of head gasket problems? I've checked the dipstick - no signs of grey. And don't seem to be losing any oil or water.
