740 saloon for sale

Does anyone want my very nice H reg 2 litre 740 SE saloon auto? Its metallic blue has 140K on the clock but is in very good nick. 6 months MOT on it too. Looking for £100

Im only selling it as my fiancee has inherited a ford escrot and the poor volvo saloon is now surlplus. If it doest sell ill just keep it in a garage until I need it.

The car is stored in Birmingham.

You make it sound like 140k is a bad thing...it's barely run in! Good luck with the sale.

To be fair, the escrot is in good condition. F reg, 36k one owner from new, fully serviced, not much rust on it either. Its very tinny and noisy to drive with its 1300 crossflow engine though, the body seems a bit lightweight and flimsy too, and the turning circle!! Im used to my volvo, I get this escort stuck every time I go out in it. Its all good fun, I enjoy older cars and its fun motoring on a shoestring budget.... until it falls to bits or breaks down.

This is the mk4 escrot forum..... right....?.. No? oh sorry!

Escorts of this age are now getting rare. It goes to show the extra build quality and attention to detail that volvos have makes a big difference. The proof is the amount of old volvos still on the roads in everyday service with monster miles on the clock.

Oh dear, it's so tempting. I'd love a nice 740, but we don't need two cars and I can't imagine life without a 340...

I won't get your hopes up, chances are I'll stick to going home and bring Fake over after getting an MOT on it, but if Fake requires anything to pass, this will probably be cheaper. I also have to keep parents vaguley sweet about 300 appearing on there drive.

If you go on their site steve you can view the 340. in all fairness though did you see all the stick they put it through until it gave up? and that was only because he sat it in neutral with his foot to the boards!!!
