redlines 360 GLE

Post by redline » 12 Jan 2006 10:11 am

sorry I havent got to those who have been asking about the car ,

I am hoping Petes gonna pop round in the next week so that we can have a go at getting it started ( I would rather sell it running as I dont want to sell it and then find the engine is knackered and it makes transportation easier for the buyer)

I will be converting the windows from electric to manual before I sell it but otherwise it will be as it was when I bought it ( except it will be running )
thanks to all of you who have been suggesting to Pete and myself the best way to get her going

Remember me? I'm the one who brought thr car to your attention, the reason you bought it in the first place, and originally had first dibs; you promised to keep me informed . . .

If it's running then I'm still here - but I want it with the 'leccy windows, please.

Mick, how about this, when I come over tomorrow (all being well) we'll try and get the beast running. Now electric windows aren't that rare, just something they overlooked on the redline! At least manual ones don't go wrong. How about this, I've got a few doors sat about with electric windows in, so, how about we swap a set of those into your redline at our leisure, not demote the GLE to manual ones! Then as 360 here has still shown an interest...... and if we get it running tomorrow, all is well. Let me know chap.

ITS RUNNING

thanks to Pete and a replacement fuel pump the car now runs , the only thing left to sort out is the choke dosent shut off when you push the cable back in ,we drove it for a good fifteen minutes with no problems the only other thing I noticed was the blower dosent work on the fast setting so will check the fuse tomorrow ,

A huge thank you to Mr Farrell and to the suggestions from Foggy and Pettaw

Hi Mick,

Extremely nick bloke that Pete Farrell, and no mistake :D Utmost respect for all involved here, though; so name checks for Foggy (shame people wind him up so much, James often makes a lot of sense), Pettaw, whose handle reminds me of some happy thing I can't quite put my finger on . . .
and Redline, of course, for saving the GLE from an uncertain future . . . .

Well, it is awards season in Hollywood, so I thought I'd get some practice in

PM. in your box by the way, Mick.

Cheers all.

well its gone , Chris and Nick came up and picked the GLE up and its winging its way back to Southampton as we speak ,
took it out for a last run this morning and I must admit I will miss the p.a.s and electric windows,
hope it serves Nick well and we should soon be seeing it at the meets
