NEW front pannel for a Mk1 is any one interested?

If so I will find out how much

I think the chap also has a pair of new head lights.

Any possible takers for these rare parts?

Yes, I gather that all Mk1s have the bottom front end panel. I don't know whether this changed over the years 1976-1982, with different bumper changes? I suspect probably not...

These could also be 345s too.. not just 343s!

A Mk1 with the 2 lire engine would be lots of fun, absolutely no-one would suspect a thing

hi there

the first 343 have short bumpers... the next had the longer ones like in tat pics.. these are the same I think as the bumpers on the Mk2 ie 1982 340s. The bumpers changed again with the Mk3 which is model year 1985.....

that means the Mk2 was only around for 3 yrs....

the 343 got a new face in 1982 right?

launched 1976 R reg.. first were S reg...

V reg is 1980... so 1982 is Y reg and new face??

metal strip under bumper becomes Mk3 all inone bumper in 1985

B reg was cross over year?

looking back its suprising how often they refreshed the car!!

and people think the modern after 4 yrs facelift is too often... the early 340 changed quite a bit....

it then was almost unchanged from 85 till 91.....

Ive seen some prototype facelifts... none look so good....

I've had a chat with the guy today and it is the nose cone he has. I've still not got a price out of him yet. He's a bit vague and to happy talking figures. :)

I will try and find out what he has. I do have 3 66's
2 estates and 1 saloon
They are all in need of major repair. I would be very willing to part with them (sure my old man would).
we are not far so a meet up would be possible.

Not so, the Mk1 wrap around bumpers are flattened on the front part of the bumper, whereas Mk2 bumpers have a pronounced angle with a point in the middle of the bumper.

And the change over period was around Y and C reg's, as I've seen mk2's on Y plates, and I think mk1 X's, though I could be daydreaming. Definately seen mk2 and mk3's on a C plate though

IIRC there are two mk1s. Early ones have the stubby bumpers and the number plate on the front valance like a mk3. Later ones have bumpers more like mk2 ones (they may even be exactly the same) and the number plate on the bumper itself. The later ones look much nicer IMO.

OK, to avoid any further confusion.........

Mk1 '76-81.
Mk2 '81-85.
Mk3 '85>

However, the Mk1 had three different dashboards and two diff bumper styles, the Mk2 had two diff dash's (Mk1 v3 and the larger Mk3 style) and two diff front sidewindow styles. Mk3's were basically the same shape/style throughout their life.

If foumd out how much he wants for the lights. After a long chat he's willing to let the go for £30 each. For what they if I had a MK1 I would snatch them up. He also has some s/h ones that could maybe rebuilt.
