In estate form, yes... I'd probably agree.. in saloon form I reckon they can look quite nice!

...and to go slightly off-topic (but on a related theme), here's my new DAF 46. It's slightly less solid than it looks, but basically just needs a thorough service as it's been off the road for 10 years.
