If someone here buys it, I'll have the alloys

(Can't take a whole non-running car myself at the mo).

I think that'll be the attracting feature for whoever buys it in the first place

dang why does it have to be a carb Model.

Chesh, whats wrong with that? I think I'd choose the carb model over the injection. Although I guess in your case you'll be wanting a GLT for further mods

But good news for me if I can find the time to go and get those wheels

Oh, it's just down the road from me.
If anyone wanted I could go and have a peek at it. However, I have no idea at all about all things mechanical.
Sadly, can't offer to look after wheels for anyone given the small size of my flat. Mrs C would not like to have alloys piled up by the fish tank

Yeah Ed... I still have them spare Mk3 wheels - I'll hold onto them for a little longer til you know what you're doing with these.
In my opinion: GET THEM!

I've been wondering about the nuts... will the ones that hold on the mk.2 alloys do the job for your mk.3 ones? Otherwise I'll have some trouble putting the wheels on his car. I don't mind buying new nuts to fit the rims to my car, I presume I can still get these from Volvo (all the various steel wheel types of nut are still available).

I only have about 10 of the alloy nuts - some Mk2's though had the alloy nuts even on steels, dont know if your 340 is like this. They have a kind of chamfered edge so they dont dig into the alloy. I've had two sets of these that have gone to various people - they're not impossible to get.

Yes, my 340 has these... they have a chrome cap on them (?)... I just bought 8 from my Volvo dealer as the ones on my rear wheels have twisted and swollen. Will the nuts this chap has on his car (I presume this same type) hold mk.3 rims on ok?

Well the guy who has the Mk2 wheels might even had the original GLE wheel nuts on there so who knows - I can't see there being a problem with putting the Mk3 alloys on.

AFAIK there are only two types of wheel nuts the steel type and the alloy capped type. I have these with my 440 rims and they are fine.
