exhaust manifolds

well , due to the career change , well not that much of a change !!

i might just be able to get some fairly cheap 4-1 exhaust manifolds made , now im thinking most of you will have 1.7 , id probably like to get the 2 litre ones done first , if i can get them done at all .

the CNC tube bender can nock them out like 1 every 20 mins , welded to a plasma cut flange , made to fit the original system .

its an idea - it will only really work if we can get sufficient quantity - like 20 or so .

ideas ? comments ? post away .

My comment would be finish the work you've already taken on before looking for new work :P :P :P

Once that's out of the way, hell yes, I think people are always interested in custom pieces, given that the cars require almost everything to be custom. There's almost certainly the market for 20 world-wide.

I've sorted your pistons into groups, and following a VADIS session to ID them for sure, I'll post them up. Work's getting in the way at the moment....a familiar story I'm sure sm56 :(

cheers

I'd possibly take a 2L one depending on price, what kind of price are they likely to be as an estimate?
edit: will these be for manual or power steering versions, *hopes power steering version* as thats one of the only bits of kit im missing to convert!
cheers

I think they'd have to be made to fit a PAS car, albeit whilst doing away with the horrific design of the stock downpipe.

Sounds good to me - would definately be interested in the 2l one depending on price.

How about an option for a lambda sensor hole too?

The exhaust manifold in the 1.7 it's joined with the intake one...

Do you have some picture of the manifold, even if it is a virtual image?

the 1.7 manifold is not physically joined to the intake so it would be possible .

and i share your view foggy - but it wouldnt be me doing it .

cant really say for the price - pinto / zetec manifolds for RH's are £140 , so i suppose in that region

Sounds like a plan :) I might eventually be in the market for one, but realistically not for a while. If needed to make up an minimum order, I'd probably take one.

I'll take a 1.7 manifold.
