Can I have the catch and stricking plate for the rear hatch? Basically as much of the door closing/locking mechanism as you can get out - the catch in the boot lid is the bit I need the most though.
Whereabouts are you as well? If you're near enough (or on my way somewhere) I might be able to pick up a few bits.
Thanks, Ed
Rear hatch

I live in Burford, Tenbury Wells about 9 miles from Ludlow.
I'm not sure of the state of the rear striker cos the boot doesn't shut properly but ill take a look and let you know

Potential interest in some of the engine parts (namely oil (sump) pan and pump)...if you fancy getting your hands dirty.
cheers

The boot catch seems to work, the stricker must of gone out of alignment.
I'll see about the sump if i can find a safe place to jack it up cos its parked down the yard, Im a trainee mechanic so the practice will come in handy
I'll try to get a picture of the 360 up but i have no internet at home and the college PCs are useless![/img]

Ok, if the catch works I'll have it... let me know how much you want by PM. Hopefully I'll be able to offer my GLS for sale with a boot that stays shut.
Cheers, Ed

Sent u a PM. Just one question, why sell the 360 over the 340? I'd much rather have the 360 going if i could get it goin and afford the insurance

Insurance for me is £130 on the 340 vs. £138 on the 360... not much in it, really. My 340 is a 1-owner (before me), low-mileage car and not far from perfect condition. The 360 has a few niggling problems (like the boot opening while you drive along) and if I kept it I'd want to fix the leaky windscreen etc.... which means spending more money than I really want to. Since my 300 is a 2nd car it doesn't have to be especially fast or practical, just fun, interesting and easy to tinker with. I will eventually have to become a CVT expert if I keep the 340 long-term, but that's part of the joys of ownership.
You can have my 360 if you want... £100? MOT until August... (tax extra)

I'll see if my dads interested cos he loved our 360. i'm only 17 so the insurance is high for the 340 (Cheapest so far for me is nearly £1600

) so a 360 is a distant dream. It would save us posting that part though

You'll be suprised at the small difference between insuring a 340 and insuring a 360. For £100 Ed's car is pretty damn cheap.

Aye but how old is he? It wouldnt be much more but dads paying the insurance and hes threatened buying me a fiesta or some other scrapheap

. So i'm not pushing anything more than a 1.4!
I think Direct Lines going to be the best. As a named driver you still build up a NCB and at £603.88 its going to be the cheapest way to build NCB

Regardless of age, I still think you'll find very little difference between insuring a 1.4 and insuring a 2 litre. Age of the car is a very significant factor with insurance premiums - and two similarly aged 300 series' will be similar to insure.
