Testing the Water - '89 340 GL

Post by Chris_C » 10 Jun 2006 11:28 pm

Alright all, just testing the water here, but anyone keen on buying a 1.7? I've spent the best part of a while fixing Fake up, and am now thinking of parting with her (maybe...)

Basically, she's straight as anything, bit of rust on the front passenger, and I think one of teh rear arches. She's done 175,000 miles all but a gnats, and now she's been gas tested and re-jetted, runs sweet as you like, I'm getting 190 miles to £20 atm, although I havn't done a completely motorway journey to get the 200+ I'm expecting.

Currently she has:

*MOT till mid/late Feb (havn't got exact date here, I'm on the island for the weekend
*Tax till August
*Cambelt changed in... Apr I think (whoever was at the meet will confirm)
*New thermostat
*Monroe rear dampers
*Replacement Weber carb
*Replacement starter motor
*Hella grill
*Econ/Temp gauges
*Colour coded snowcap
*PowerDyn Interface
*Blueline seats (apart from the drivers, which is a GLT)
*Panasonic HU (although I'll prolly take the JBL components out, negotiable on that, I have the orig door cards to put back if I do)
*Electric windows (probably, me and Steve are hoping to fit them next week)

Basically, you lot know what I'm like with my cars, Fake now idles beatifully, and starts perfectly, a lot of which is from help from here. There are quite a few rare parts one there, and price wise, those can be kept or taken. Chances are there are bits I've fitted that have forgotten about as well knowing me...

Power curves from the last powerdyn run can be seen here, speaks for itself really, even if you don't trust powerdyns figures, look at the shape of the curves.

Anyone keen? I'm not thinking of taking the mick with price, but I've spent around £700 since Feburary getting her running like she is now (not to mention the time me and others have spent...) so sensible offers.

I reiterate, I am again only testing the water, depends on a few things as to whether I'm going to part with her.

Cheers all, photos of her are availible for those that don't know her

EDIT:: Added more to the list of stuff I'd done as I rememebered it!
