Anybody interested in a 1.7 5 dr G reg 237000 miles which the owner will have to scrap at end of next month when MOT expires ( he has replacement waiting for him) Has warm start problem but looks quite clean some rust

O.K. I've got my own login now so can give you a few more details.

Yes it still goes and is very reliable - 600 miles in the last week alone so it's up to 238,000 miles now. It's been to Edinburgh (830 miles), Cardiff (360 miles), Runcorn (500 miles) & Ipswich in the last month alone plus a weekly trip to Milton Keynes and several other shorter trips - and not a single problem. I hope that doesn't tempt fate!

Mot is until 20 October - only hope the replacement is ready by then.

So it's got a few small quirks- but nothing mechanical that I know of.
Boot struts have failed - typical
Drivers door handle is broken but usable (just)
Broken bracket on sunroof but it does still lift
Rev counter is a but iffy
Small oil leak from fuel pump but otherwise the engine is clean

I'm sure it could pass another MoT if pushed (is that the right expression ??) but needs 2/3 new tyres and maybe they will find something else wrong.

But all good things have to come to an end, and the family have decided I need something with "a bit more street cred" - the cheek of it !

P.S. I also have a virtually unused exhaust tailpipe that is alledgedly for a Volvo 340 but it's not quite right for mine so probably fits a 1.4 engine.
