360 GLT :(

Post by Carl » 01 Apr 2007 05:21 pm

After much thought, I think I'm gonna have to sell the 360 :(

I've just bought a car that I've dreamed of owning for many years which is going to be a bit of a project, and unfortunately it's going to have to take Fioner's place. I'd really love to keep both, but to get Fioner where I want her to be is going to cost a lot of money, and I just cant afford it with this new car as well.

So here's a bit of info:
1988 360 GLT, 5 door
120k miles (summat like that)
Body is good, but not perfect - a few dings and a couple of rust spots but nothing major. The paint has faded very slightly, but she looks great after a polish.
Engine is getting a bit tired - there's a puff of smoke when first starting up - probably the valve stem seals getting a bit old, but it pulls well and runs smooth.
Comes with e/w, s/r and c/l.
I've done a fair bit of work to this car, which includes fitting:
Hella light grille (with overide switch)
Mk2 GLT alloys
Ambient temp and economter in dash
Brand new Volvo auxillary guage panel with oil pressure and oil temp gauges - neither wired up but I have both sensors ready to fit.
Volvo voltmeter where the ashtray was (bodged in a bit though)
New KYB gas dampers at the rear (needs new bushes though)
New Mountney 13" wheel and boss (bit too small TBH)
New cambelt and water pump
New rocker cover gasket
New fan belts
Induction kit (bit rubbish TBH though)
New diff gasket with fresh oil
A couple of oil/filter changes
New plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm

The following parts are also available and can go with the car depending on price:
KYB gas front dampers
Uprated front springs
Polybushes for front suspension
New Volvo strut top mounts
New rear brakes (drums, shoes, cylinders)
New brake master cylinder
New radiator
Complete B230 engine with 531 head and VX3 cam
Spare B200 360 sump for use with above
Spare B200 360 intermediate shaft and oil pump for use with above
K cam
Brand new D cam (I think)
Quite a few new gaskets and seals (inc sump gasket, crank seals, intermediate shaft seals and loads more).
Few other bits and bobs

MoT is until the end of April, but I'll probably put it through a new one as it should pass ok. Last year it had a lot of welding done, so it should be solid underneath.

Price I'm not too sure about. Can anyone give any guidance? I've spent a fair bit of money on some fairly rare accessories and she's in good nick for her age (well I think so anyway). Plus there's gotta be £400 worth of spares if I sold them seperately. So £offers for the whole lot, just the car as it is, or just the car with some of the more expensive stuff removed.

Just to remind you:

Carl
I would be very interested in the auxiliary guage panel and the two guages if you are prepared to sell them seperately. Let me know what you would want for them. Think they would go well in my new 360.

If you decide to sell seperately then good luck.

Cheers

Ben

For the peeps that have been asking me about specific bits - I'd rather sell the whole lot in one go to save messing around. But if no one is interested then I'll start seling things off seperately later on.

I'm making notes of all the requests for now, and we shall see what happens.

Please make a note of this Mr Carl-KYB front strts/inserts?-poly bushes-strut top mounts.

Obviously this would be dependant on you not using the funds for summit French that drives at the wrong end

Noted. They're just the inserts, but Mr Bilbo has already reserved the dampers, polybushes and top mounts :)

I'll still have the french tat, but I'll also have something that is v8 powered and drives the other end ;)

Carl please ignore him he has clearly taken a blow to the head as I saw him spend a fiver today so it surely cannot be right he is offering more of his hard earned in the same day.
If this gets any worse he'll be rooting out his wad of white fivers from under the mattress and weighing them in next :?

The first part of the sentence leaves me weary and dismayed, however, the latter bit has me perking up and if it has the steering wheel on the wrong side then, young sir, your kudos will be unrivalled around these parts

Inserts it is then-if you do end up parting with the spares hoy mine in with Baggins' stuff I'm sure he can afford a bit extra carriage

Mick is straight in there with the correct answer. So a bit of old school English RWD muscle for me. It came up cheap and couldn't resist.

Picking it up next weekend, and as long as it's not a complete dog it means the 360 will have to go :(

Ooooh we like tasty bits!! Doubt I could afford them now, but feel free to send me some details!!

I wouldn't mind a tank tank at some point. I'd love an old Camaro Z28.

And Mick - stainless steel exhausts, so it does sound rather nice!! Just hope it doesn't turn out to be a heap. Could resist a cheap BIN, but haven't seen much in the way of pics. Looks good front what I have seen though. Suppose to have adjustable suspension and an LSD, can't see it having the latter, but we'll see.

Dodge charger/Trans Am would be awesome, but the Z28 is more likely to be in my price range!! If I had the money however, what I'd really like is one of these:
