We're going to part out Gavin's 'Rory' this weekend. Many parts are spoken for, but far from everything. Post up what you're looking for, and we'll see how we get on.
cheers

The complete engine is already taken.
Engine mounts, bellhousing, renix and CPS should all be available.
Crank bearing...i.e. pilot /spigot bearing...which goes in the end of the crank to support the end of the prop? Get a new one!
cheers

Ah, I get you. The Clio (or whatever) engine will presumably have a different bearing. I'd buy a new one....it won't cost much.
cheers

Hmm, possibly the front spoiler lip if it's in good nick? As usual, the problem with me is postage (would be UK though) ...

I'd assume they would all fit in side the bellhousing for posting purposes.
and should not cost much more than the £10 it cost last time to post me the 1.4 bellhousing.
so yeh let me know how much:)

eBay-tastic shipping is about £7 flat rate.
As for the parts...I'd have to chat it through with Chris. Probably somewhere in the order of £30 incl shipping.
Tom - the centre piece of the front spoiler is missing.
cheers

Sorry Kaos, I'm having everything enginewise from propshaft forwards, from your list, the only thing I'm not having is the renix, which you can have dibsies on, but why would you want that for the 16V conv?!
Unless you are thinking of running carbs, but even then, the ignition timing will be far from ideal for the 16V, it'll cost more, but programmable igntition will put you out a significant amount more power whilst being safer (as long as it's set up properly

).

yeah, definitely wouldn't use a 300 renix for a 16v conversion. Use a renault management system.

Never mind, I'll leave it then ...
Poor Gavin, I hope he's not reading all of this

I wouldn't, I tend to get attached to my motors ...
Cheers,

I'm in need of a throttle cable, and trying to source a new one, but if no one is taking this one (I don't know if Chris will want it with the engine) then don't throw it out, I may take it, even if just to take to some places to compare the connectors at each end.
I'll let you know if I get a new one sorted.
EDIT: Well, the local mechanic had a look and thinks that the AA guys temporary throttle cable is fine and doesn't need replacing, so that's good.

We also replaced the gaskets connecting the fuel pump to the block as the old ones were leaking a tiny bit. Apparently these have been discontinued as well

Renault may supply them still I guess, but he had a tin full of gaskets, and two were a perfect match, so that was alright
So I don't need the throttle cable, but if you were going to throw it out, then maybe I'll take it as a spare

Hey Foggy, long time no hear, howz it going?
I was chatting to Gavin about this a couple of weeks ago, but didnt mange to pick it up before you got the car, im after the redline Drivers Seat..
if you can keep that aside that would be great..(or if the whole interior is cheap enough will have that)
Not sure if you were planning a trip down, been meaning to get hold of the side skirts and rear valance from Dave..
Happy New Year!!
Cheers
Jay
