Very simple tool. Given some dimensions I could make some of them if there was any interest.

looks pretty much like a g-clamp with rubber bits on the end

It is a simple tool, but it is pretty essential, or makes it bloody hard work otherwise! When Andy and myself worked on my Vario we discovered from Mac's info that by combining a block of wood shaped and cut to the dimensions shown, and a large 'F' clamp I use for woodwork, which is pretty much similar to the special tool, but you have to be careful not to score or mark the drums with the metal jaws, so covering them with tape works.
When I worked on a Vario recently when the belts had to be put back on, I did it really easily with my 'F' clamp, but I was seriously considering buying the special tool on Ebay after Chris gave me the heads up, mainly to keep it available for use by enthusiasts.
So unless someone else is super keen, I'll probably go for it. I'm sure I could make it available to genuine and trusted members who needed it, provided it was looked after and respected.

hi there
Pete Farrell and I have hatched a plan to buy this tool for V3M for loan to members and also for use on our own CVT cars. Is anyone from this site currently bidding on it at the moment?
