Breaking 340 1.7 GLE - Almost all parts available
Failing miserably on finding F7P conversion parts for my 1.4 I've just gone and bought a complete 1.7 GLE. Its a big shame to break rather than getting it back on the road but needs must...
Ok - obviously the mounts and bellhousing are gone but virtually everything else is available.
Its a 5dr GLE with electric windows and central locking. If I can't get these to fit my 3 dr then these will also be for sale.
Anyone want anything else? lights, interior, bumpers, etc???
Let me know. Won't be after much at all as the car was cheap anyway. Just looking to make some of my money back.

Yea still in portsmouth!
Not sure if the car will ever see my driveway however, a mate of mine has a lockup round the corner from silverlakes so it'll probably go straight there for a strip down.
I'll be about this weekend if you need anything - and remember, the first fivers worth is free to you mate!

I believe the front bar inc mounts will be available as I *think* I'll be using the 1.7 parts. Fan switch would have to come off the 1.7 GLE but I don't think they'd be any different.
I don't think theres any difference in any of the transmission parts between the 1.4 and 1.7 (with the exception of the bellhousing and clutch) - someone might want to confirm that! But if thats the case you're welcome to them.
I was planning on keeping the diff as a spare - maybe to weld up at a later date so I'd like to keep this - I'll let you know if i change my mind though!
I'll get back to you asap with prices mate!

I was enquiring as to the box on the 1.4 as i figured there would be a few issues with running a 1.7 box and diff on a 1.4, if i did bung a 5speed on my current diff what kinda results would that give? (sorry to change direction of post)

p.s the engine mounts arent essential just the bar really, the mounts would just be a plus as mine have been put under a load of stress from the bar snapping and then being driven a bit without the bar.
