340 for sale

Much loved 340 1.4 for sale £110. Barnstaple, N Devon.

125,000 miles (apx odometer stuck at 105k) taxed and tested until April.
Requires apx £500 worth of work (quote by garage)to get through next MOT (tyres, steering, exhaust) Radio excellent but cassette player U/S
Owned last 5 years and 50k miles. In last two years new water pump & radiator and battery & dizzy cap.
Thats it. Usual 340 charms. Used as a workhorse so not pretty but presentable. Need for motorway miles forces sale (I'm going Skoda).

In response to query.
Its a 5 door. Needs three new tyres. Weld required on front pipe of exhaust. New silencer req'd but possibly weldable IMHO (pipe seperated from box) Excessive play in steering. Just looked; Tax expires end July 09 MOT April 14th 09.

It's too good for the scrapper and deserves better!
Unlike the £180 hack on E bay, this doesn't need a new clutch!

Not heard from Smokebillowing yet so I reckon it's still available. However, because of tax refund, swapping insurance etc etc it WILL be going to the scrapper next Friday (27th) unless some one does a deal.

The tyres have life in them. All the points listed above were what the garage advised would be required for the MOT in May.
Its a drive away job if you dont mind a loud exhaust. Forget the tyres, bring some gun gum.
