Model: Volvo 340 GL, 3 Door
Year: 1985
Mileage: 63000
Tax: July 2009
MOT: November 2009
Location: South London
Price: 375 ono
Additional Information:
This lovely 340 has just short of 63,000 miles from new and apart from one wing is in super condition. The car starts and runs and only yesterday completed a lovely and economical 150 mile round trip using up £15 worth of petrol, I do drive like a nun though! The MOT is through to November 11th this year and it passed with only one advisory, the wing! The tax takes you through to the end on July this year so you can jump in and use it straight away!

Going around the body you can see that is mostly in excellent rust and damage free condition apart from 5 areas, the nearside front corner where there is damage to the bumper corner & the little strip under the headlight, the nearside front wing which has rust around the wheel arch, the front valance has a dent in the middle, the bonnet has a small dent from the inside and a very slight dent on the passenger door. Going through the pile of history with the car it seems that that wing was replaced at some point and I would imagine it's a pattern wing as apart from a thumbnail sized patch on the sunroof there seems to be no rust in the rest of the car at all, it passed the MOT like that as it is not structural, to be honest though it lets down the car and should be replaced. The dent in the door is so slight as to be almost unnoticable and I'd leave that! The glass is all in good order aside from a chip in the windscreen which is outside an MOT area. The bonnet also has a tiny piece of laquer coming off, this shows traces of having been painted in the past. The headlamp washer/wiper has been removed but I have one should you want it.

The seats are comfortable supportive and undamaged aside from some staining especially on the front passenger seat, the rear seat looks largely unused. The ashtrays are clean and free fom damage so I would imagine the car has not been smoked in. All the switches and gauges work as they should including the economy gearchange indicator. The car starts easily and runs well although the engine is definately in need of a tune as the idle is lumpy and it is a bit fumey, that doesn't stop it pulling well and returning good mpg! The 63k can be backed up with service history and more importantly what looks to be a complete set of old MOT's, there may be the odd one missing! The clutch and gearchange are excellent, the original gearknob is loose though, the brakes stop in a straight line and the handbrake will hold it on a hill. The steering is not power assisted and is as good as a 340 gets and the tyres are all budget but with lots of tread, aside from the spare which is a good Avon. The stereo and speakers are Pioneer and the stereo is not wired up so you'll have to sing on the way home! The sunroof works well on tilt but grumbles on slide so I haven't forced it!

So a good honest car in need of an enthusiastic new owner willing to get the engine tuned and the wing sorted as it really is a little sweetheart. I am using it at the moment so the mileage may creep up a little but it won't be leaving South London so please come and have a look. The car comes with one key, a nice pile of service history, the original Volvo owners pack with service book and other gumph, a tax disc to the end of July and an MOT until November, as usual will swap for summat!!

think my 'correct in a post' percentage is down to like 26%

360s take a Valver engine easy.......... 20%
340s have the gearbox at the front......14%

Im bailing now, with my 14% sucess rate still intact.
