1987 67k 360 GLT Saloon

Post by Con2K » 18 Nov 2009 11:23 pm

I hate that I have to do this but I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. She must go!

I have recently bought a new car (Nissan 200sx S14a) that I intend to hold onto for awhile and its now taking the piss how many cars I have out on the road that I have to tax and test or pay for storage bk up north etc. Especially considering it's my gf's mums house down here and not my own!
I've posted up details about this car previously so feel free to search. I had bought it from a friend with the intention of using it as a daily drive replacement to my fiesta and maybe drifting it but tbh I tried afew roundabouts in the wet and got alittle bit sideways but thats about it. She's not been hammered, completely standard and i've done around 1012 miles in it since I bought it on 21st Sept this year (I think).

It's no surprise being an old volvo that it comes with lots of history. Basically all of it. It has all original documentation of purchase, MOT's, invoices, receipts, insurance certificates and even a handwritten book giving details of everytime it went to the garage, who repaired it and who dropped her off to collect it!!! Comes with original manuals including volvo ones and a Haynes.

There was a recent starting issue that turned out to be nothing but a relay coming loose but as a result I have changed the following:

Dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads (incl. king lead) plugs BOTH fuel filters, fuel lines, air filter, alot of working but just old fuses, all bulbs including interior ones and centre console ones. It starts 1st time everytime, idles fine, great fuel economy (esp now i've changed the filters). I have also fitted a v.clean drivers side headlight as old one had a crack, a tail light as the reversing lens fell out and if need be, got a spare 5th 14" GLT wheel, spare front fog as one has a chip in it if these are wanted.

It's an early Mk3 GLT so has heated seats and front leccy windows but not leccy mirrors or leccy sunroof. Standard MW/LW radio and original factory fit front and rear volvo speakers.

Has brand new exhaust fitted last year (centre section and backbox) and comes with MOT until August and Tax till April I think.

Bad points:

- There are scabs and bubbling on the rear arches, passed last MOT no problem and wasnt an advisory and has previously had a plate welded up on the sill around the passenger B-pillar which is all good now.
- There is a mudflap missing.
-Not that I know enough about them but someone told me the front lip spoiler is missing.
-Has already had a cambelt but I would reccommend another one due to age (not mileage).
-both rear doors have heavy scractches and a dent around said sctraches. Not Major but not unnoticable either.

Will stick her up for £700ono and for that price i'd give any spares I have and have the cambelt done too.

Spares include rotor arm, 2 spare lead sets and new oil filter, 5th 14" GLT alloy wheel, spare front foglight, 2x brand new number plates I had made to smarten up the exterior but never fitted, damaged tail light (handy for parts maybe?) and whatever else I can find relating to it.

Will take some more recent pics of it shortly but this is what I have atm:

Alternatively to hold onto the volvo, I have the following for sale:

2001 Seat Ibiza 1.8T 20v Cupra - 275bhp (proven). one off factory painted VAG Anthracite Grey, Cupra R Brembos, 17" alloys, 88k, recent cambelt (82k) including metal waterpump impellor (plastic ones are common fault), FMIC, sports cat s/s/ exhaust, coilovers, boost and other gauges, full history, standard spec + cruise control & sunroof (no other cupra's had A/C AND sunroof). Clifford CAT1 Alarm with full closure.

£6000ovno

1996 Ford Fiesta mk4 with 1.7 Puma engine conversion done by my good self (done atleast 10 of these swaps and well known around forums for it so no problems with it). 67k miles, Zetec-s interior, suspension, rear beam, ZS 15" multispoke alloys, Fiesta ST front and rear disc setup, decat exhaust, front upper and lower strut braces. Very subtle styling. Very nippy and responsive car. has done a MOT and tax due around april but can sort 12months test. Coilovers, shocks and lowering springs, spare alloys with R888's all available if need be.

£1500ono.

All located in Somerset.

The prices are listed below the images. Please note if its a small car you are after, both are modified and probably expensive to insure for a younger driver if mods are declared.

Nice cars you got there, I can understand why you'd need to get rid of it. Good luck with the sale

Some really nice cars there, if I can shift my zetec s i would be interested in that fezza used to have a mk5 1.2 but always fancied a 1.7 in it would be a proper fun little car
good luck with the sales anyway

Cheers Liam - you know the score with my motors!

Will add the advert to VOC after the weekend when I get bk from newcastle.

Mate - if you have a ZS then this car will feel v.firmiliar. It's got a late puma engine conversion so means its got the Mk5 digi dials and all the extra's like ZS interior and heated screens, leccy everything etc etc. Bascially a ZS 1.7 with a mk4 front end is best way to describe it. very sorted car. has a WIP thread on UKFN but I must admit since I bought it I havent updated the thread, was a good mates until he bought a ST170. Out of all my cars its the one I want to let go of least but times change and I do love my 200sx.

The Volvo and Ibiza will be going on eBay and pistonheads shortly but the fiesta will probably hang around until next year if need be as its a good drive and the missus is happy to use it till she gets sumthing new.

Sum1 viewing tomoz. Had the wheels balanced and an opportunity to get it up on a 2 post lift. I cant get over how solid it is!! Its spotless underneath. No rust, bubbling or damage and at worst the rear diff casing is weeping. Remind me why i'm selling this!!!??? :(

There's only one dusty drifter lol.

Shame it's gone man. never even got to see it. Maybe my 4dr opinion would have been changed, seeing it in the metal. 340pw

Trust me mate it would have. To the point where I wouldnt have a 3/5dr. I'd want another saloon if I had a choice. But I do love the 80's saloons...

Maybe again... one day. :(
