Really? I don't get that. The UK was the V300's biggest market and:

no Mk1 or Mk2 "phase1" B19A S-versions
no diesels
no 1.4 saloons hence no auto saloons
no special editions to speak of, except redline / blueline

They tried to make it up towards the end with the standard equipment though ;-)

Nah, it really depends on how good it is, and without seeing it, we won't know. Some cars even without MOT will actually breeze through without much effort, so it all boils down to how good the shell is. I wouldn't pay asking, but I'd go a lot further than half way if the body was mint.

Just using my GLE as a yardstick really Rich.
45k when I got in it.
FVSH
Full Tax
Full Test
Full Tank Of Petrol
Garaged from new.
No Rust.
Perhaps the highest standard rust wise you could hope for.
And that stood £600.

to put a test and tax on that one, if youre lucky, youll be spending £775-825 all told? if it doesnt need any actual work.

Might be worth it. Hardly a 'buy me' valuation though.

Suppose not, my one was 335, add another 40 quid for delivery. So that's 375 without a ticket or tax.

Add a downpipe, some brake bits, test and tax and it probably cost another 300 and that's 675 on the road. Oh and forgot, I'd normally do the brake work myself, but as I wasn't in the country, had to grease matey Raymondo's palm with dosh so stick another one-r on that. 775.

Not withstanding me doing a few bits and bobs to the car like changing the fuel pipes and variomatic belts. At least I had a pair of good belts kicking around. Although the cheapest I've had a Volvo set via DCN was 171 yoyos.

Handy if it's on the doorstep. As travelling to look at motors cost a few bob and all.

Better stop counting now..... Mrs will go radio rental if she knew the cost of my "substitute hire car".

In many ways this guy is as much a dreamer as the above:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1985-VOLVO-340-GL ... 4a9e19fc70

Personally in this condition £150 would be as much as I'd offer... with 12 months ticket thrown in, a full service and a full tank of gas! One wonders what price he is actually after.
I blame the Volvo 66 estate I had......

He's really making it sound like a bargain isn't he? Stoved in rear wing, rust at the front, knackered brakes, new battery needed. Standing for near three years. Oh and that little thing, the MoT. That would be fun looking at the rear damage - perhaps the brakes are binding as somebody trashed the rear end? Can't see how the suspension and rear axle weren't damaged after that little knock. No idea what his reserve is obviously, but it has to be a touch ambitious given that he's starting the auction at £150 - a point at which most people would be happy for their cars to reach, especially half stoved in. Essentially here for auction we have a scrap 340?

Seems to be a few 300's creeping onto eBay - there is a 360 some dealer has put up with 130,000 miles on. That sounds more interesting a prospect than this 340. My GLT has just gone past 120,000 miles and runs fine, so I can't see mileage being an issue - just waiting for him to upload some images. May be worth a minor laugh to see what kind of state this vehicle is in.

Notice that there is a heated debate going on about stock v. modified. Oops! May I rot in hell. My 360 was unmodified until yesterday when my original Volvo stereo died [mind it only ever picked up Radio 1, so a Godsend it died really]. Halfords put in a CD player for me. CD player? Volvo 360? I must be mad to modify such a valuable and historic car.... I'll not be surprised if I'm thrown off site.

that debate will trundle on longer than a stock, well cared for 1.4 340 dude.
