This one was on eBay twice, I was winning bidder the first time, but the seller gazzumped me as they wanted more and couldn't afford the 6p that it costs to set a reserve.....
Second time, they made it clear that they were after rather a silly amount of cash for the car, which has a problem with clutch drag, quite a few dings and some rot in the rear valance and around one rear spring front platform where the tie-in is with the inner sill.
The seller claimed that the car was easy to drive as it would creep like a real automatic in traffic, which appealed to me until I found out about the dragging clutch.
Entirely savable of course, but best inspected properly if it's still with the same seller as I think that their garage had been feeding them a line in bull these past few years and not looking after it correctly.

I don't think the seller knows what they're talking about. From conversation with JPB, I don't even think there was a knowledge of transmission BELTS. I think it was mentioned a 900 quid reserve. Seen it on Bristol Gumtree or something with about £800 as the asking.
Thing is, two weeks before this Brissle seller, the car was on eBay in Southampton finishing without a bid on a £350 start.
and for that reason...

Hi there guys,
Just for the record, having read all your comments I would like you to know that I bought the car in good faith and wanted to sell it for I paid for it.
I realise now that I should not have trusted the people (so called friends) that I got the car from. However please feel free to offer constructive advice and help if you are able.
Nim
p.s. the car is still up for grabs if any one is interested. 07771633073

I have to say it looks like a nice car really... try writing an indepth description on here and on the Volvo Owners Club with lots of pictures... if it were a manual I'd be interested myself!
