havin just realsied u dnt have a project section i'll update here :D

so yea the car, volvo 340 4 door respayed in green with a satin black bonnet lowered 2 inch's (i think) and sitting on 13x7 minilights with 175/50's. its been converted to a renault clio f7p engine. the conversion is pretty tidy altho the heater box has been remover to make way for the intake and the temp gauge dosnt work but generaly it runs pretty well and is fast enough to keep me entertained for now and certanly enough to drift. inside is a set of recaro's from a late escort rs2000, being a ford man they cudnt b better.

so far ive done nothing but fit a sterio and sort out the iffy filling and venting on the ally tank in the boot. ive got a timing belt to go on (the old one looks faily new so ive not rushed to change it), oil n filter for wen i get in it too. ive ordered a set landrover shocks for the rear today to try n stiffen up the rear. other things on the 'to do' list include:

weld diff
fill front shocks with diff oil
get proper front springs as the current ones are too soft and dont fit properly
fit a lift pump and fuel swirl pot as the ally tank in the book dosnt have any baffels so wen goin left it cuts out.
wanna sort a heater so it can b driven in the winter but not sure how im gonna get around the intake.
strip interia
lower more

some pics anyway

When you are ready for sprigs give me a shout and I'll sort them for you.

You don't need to be messing with the std shocks any more if your budget will stretch to a set of adjustable dampers.

hi thanks for the comments

I no how illigal the plater are, ive had fines for not runnin front plates on the fiesta and have mates who've been fined for black plates but u gotta admit they look the tits on it and std colour plates wud look pretty pants. They'l stay until i get real greif for them, i can deal with a fine every 6 months for 'the look' hahaha

Classicswede, thanks, how much do the adjustable shocks go for? Oh and the springs? Im presuming u have a little buisness goin on? What else do u do? At the mo its a budget build due to plowing money into the fiesta but wen thats done im gona want some bits for the volvo.

yea i am garth! its a wicked little car.

small update on the car anyway. i started to buy some bits for the car n just generaly sort it out. first up was the rear shocks, altho there was nothing wrong with the old ones i read in maby places the ladyrover defender front shocks fit and stiffen it up a treat. i ordered some off ebay for a 110 modle and they arrived a couple of days later, i took them out the box and was shocked (no pun intended  ) at how big they were! i wasnt sure they wud fit but yes when i tried they went on ok. i fitted the drivers first then lowered it down and bounced the car to find there was only an inch of travel before there was a clunk and the car stopped goin down. hummmm, turns out the outer cover of the shock was so big it hit the anti-tramp bar, quick cut with the grinder sorted that out tho. with both sides on it is so much stiffer on the rear, mint.

old vs new

'modded'

fitted

second up was to sort the fuel surge from lack of a swirl pot in the system. i done a deal with a friend and got a 1l swirl pot and facet fuel pump. due to the tank return line being at the bottem of the tank i had to mount the pot above it to stop fuel just filling it up from the top so the only quick fix was to glue it to the top, in hinesight i shud have stuck it to the other side so i didnt ge tin the way of the filler but o well. the facet is solid mounted at the mo cos i only have one rubber for it but its proper loud so will need sorting as dose the other pump mounting. it runs and in the morning will get good run to see if its stopped the issues.

also got another inlet to cut up to run the throttle body at the front and hopfuly then fit a heater again
Image

it is slightly different from the one i have fitted tho, the bit the sticks out for the t/b is shorter and theres somem more vacumes off it but im sure it'l all be fine wen its in a few peices and welded back together

thanks for looking

1. "it's not needed" - I thought you were from Somerset? Thus it must get cold regularly...
2. Stock 300 heaters are excellent, I even think the one in my 343 was even better than the 360's
3. Having the inlet at the bulkhead is ridiculous
