me and my 340

Post by Sliderman » 10 Jun 2009 01:12 pm

hello, just thought i'd introduce myself.

recently purchased a 1990 340 4-door in gunmetal grey, pretty much imaculate with 36 thousand miles on it. having completed a full service (oil filter and change, air filter, cleaned carb, dizzy cap and arm, leads, etc) I have just found some lovely revolution 4-spokes (front 7jx13, rear 8jx13 plus two spare older 7jx13's). i'll post up some pics when i get tyres and fit them.

plans for the car are lower it, front splitter of some description, and a slightly noisier exhaust (not too loud mind). aside from that she is going to stay as clean and mechanically sound as possible while i go to university (going to derby to study msport tech). eventually an engine swap of some description and from there who knows..... no huge rush with things, just as and when i can afford and find parts.

enjoying 340 ownership, nice to meet you folks sm4

Tyres arrived today. took an hour off work and got them mounted on the rims.

happy happy happy

pics to follow as soon as i can jack a camera. i own a nokia phone from a similar period as my car, the camera is a nice touch, but the photos it takes are more of an 'artists impression' than anything else.

neverdie, yes, have looked into a golf splitter after drooling slightly over andy P's red rocket. To be honest, I don't think many other lips/splitters would suit the car (in my slightly twisted mind, but thousands of people are bound to disagree). just looks so right.

just a quick update, as i haven't said anything more for ages...

Now have koni reds plus vented disks to go on the front, i'm hoping to convert the struts to coil-over with threaded collars made for escorts. landy shocks and 2" blocks for the rear.

Oh. and i've also got an F7p with manifolds and loom etc that i've just found outside. :D

here's a pic from a trip round scotland with my lovely girlfriend/fiancee:
