Right... todays pics. There were more... but it seems I may have turned the option on the camera to let me take pictures without the card. Oooops. So, we have pictures in the dark! Mate of mine who has a few imps did the welding for me, the last panel furthest to the front was rushed a bit as it was getting dark but all have good penetration even though the welds stand proud (and they arn't as proud as the photos make out, the 4 on the very left of the first photo are Volvo's own welds)
Tomorrows job, grinding welds!

How on earth did I miss this thread? Epic progress, Chris!
I was gonna say...'unground' MIG welds in primer always seem to look terrible in pictures, even if they're quite neat really...so if you grind them nice and flat, that should be a job well done.
Roll on March/April when I get my bottle, regulator, safety kit, and fire up the Murex...
cheers
James

Good work Chris. On the welding it looks ok but I would say try turning the heat setting up a little to give more penetration and a flatter weld.

Bumpity...
I'm afraid that I've not been keeping up-to-date with V3M. Chris, is this project still awaiting your attention in December? Have you fitted the turbo elsewhere instead?
Cheers,
Gavin.

I'm still working at it Gavin! But only really now for a week or so a year at Christmas, so it's rusting quicker than I can sort it

I hope to get the other inner wing welded up this year, as well as the wiring done. I hate not having her on the road

Cheers Chris. Hope all's well with you. If only 300s stood up to the dreaded tin worm as well as the 900s do
