A short trip into the frozen archipelago

Post by nomead » 25 Feb 2010 09:47 pm

I went for a short trip in the archipelago (Nauvo, Korppoo) with the kids. Short turned out to be 6 hours, they liked playing in the snow so much. And why not... Of course I took plenty of pictures. Here are some samples:

And yes, the ferries were large enough to carry a bus.

Or a Volvo 340.

We also have some snow. The heap of snow was taller than me, and I'm 187 cm.

I don't know where else to gloat so I'll tack it here as a followup.
Today was the time for the yearly inspection of the 340. And it passed, with no written remarks. sm86
There was almost a problem with the exhaust gas measurements. But I got the permission to try and adjust it, so I did, and it went within the limits. Also the inspector said that the tyres are bad but still borderline legal (3.5mm when the limit is 3), so they weren't bad enough to write a remark.

That's some strict legislation on tyres! It's down to 1.6mm here!

The limit is only 3 mm on winter tyres (which are obligatory between Dec 1st and Feb 28th). On summer tyres it's the same 1.6 mm.
