Located a 3 door F reg 340 in dark grey not far from here (not sure of engine/or vario/manual). Off road covered in green (long time off road). Tipped off by the lad who's banger racing. Think he thinks I might be more likely to get it off the owners than him if I turn up in a 340! Obviously he would like it for racing. If it's too far gone for saving could be another good source for parts before he gets it. If it's not bad and could be fixed up I'll try to get it up for sale on here whole. Can't get involved in any more cars for now or I'll get lynched by she who must be ignored so it's on the back burner but I'll make enquires and try to get a pic anyhow cos it's a corker in two tone green algae

That's a seriously nice example that one - when the seller mentioned '£100' i was trying to figure out how to get down to it myself!!

As to further spots... kept seeing a white 340 3 door around between Balsall Common and through Meriden, turns out the owner works at the Volvo dealer Johnsons, Solihull - he'd seen my GLS around too

I saw 2 today, one a grey 340 owned by an old lady down the road from me that hardly ever drives it, trundling northwards on the A358 from Taunton.
The other was outside the bowling alley in Taunton about 10pm, a silver 360 GLE with a spoiler and bonnet scoop, perfect condition.

I saw a red 340 near taunton on the A38, turning off on to the road that leads to monkton elm dosters lane i think. Looked in good condition, i was in a mates car though not my 340.

Malmedy, Belgium near Spa-Francorchamps: As you go into the town of Malmedy on the left hand side opposite the big toy shop a guy there has a collection of about 8 rotting 340's, mainly 2 doors. He's obviously into Volvo's as the site is a current petrol station, and in the old car repair shop adjacent he has 4 near to absolutely mint 240's - one mildly customised with quad headlamps. There is also a 340 in the repair section that looks to be in very good condition. I didn't get a chance to speak to anybody, as the kids were screaming for a new toy. Buggers.

I do have photographs, but I've yet to develop the film! Boy did wife think I was odd taking holiday snaps of ancient 340's. Whilst the 340's are mainly scrap, the 240's really are immaculate. Not immaculate as in an Autotrader advert for a clapped out heap, but immaculate as in bloody good looking cars.

yeah, the famous Malmedy "junkyard"; the owner is a f*cking lunatic as he simply knows the cars he has there are rare; but simply let's them rot a way outside "for a restauration to come" over the years the guy had many visitors of 300 fanatics that wanted to buy any of the cars to give them the attention they deserve but the basterd simply refuses.

sit down and prepare for some horror while you check these pics out:



notice the horizotal wiper system for the headlights; i think you can count the 300's that have those and are still around on 2 hands.





take the bare shell of that 343 to a sandblaster and i doubt there will be anything left.
