You need B14 block, Renault 5 alpine head, K-Jetronic, KKK-turbo, 1 709cc engine displacement, that will put out 276hp, then you need to put gearbox from 264 Volvo and reduce weight to 960kg, simple?

That is what there was in 343 rallycross car, which won european championship.

So who is going to try and build something like that?

i actually have all those engine parts (excluding the kkk turbo) lying around, it's the reliabilaty of a Cleon engine at that level of performance that holds me from doing it.
the power that i'm currently aiming for is to me the limit that will be fun e.g. not a project where i can drive 50miles and have to work 4 days to drive another 50miles...

in france there are Cleon engines with 1598cc displacement and gordini head that put out 350bhp though.,,

EM champion winner drove two seasons with his car, but there is no mention about how many engines were used during that time.

He had also steering that had 2.5 turns from lock to lock, steering rack was what came with car, 1982 343, but it was increased in length.

One thing is puzzling me, that is KKK turbo, they talk about turbo, but it is not turbo like I have seen and it is in co-driver's foot well.

Also they used only 3 of 4 gears as 1st gear was too short, so that partly explains good acceleration time.

Something with that performance and bone stock looks would be a killer, grandpa car with some balls
