Hi, I am new here. I have a 1989
360GLT, metallic black with all electrics. I am currently modifying her. If there is anyone from
the UK who can tell me where I can get 360 bits and pieces please speak up because I can
only find 340 bits and that really is depressing

I am looking for the sport splitter for the rear bumper and the
side skirts.
I also would like the VDO Econ-ometer & the VDO outside air temperature gauge that go
in the dashboard.
I heard that a full black leather interior was standard on the 1985-86 GLS special, but they are
probably all extinct now, so I was wandering if leather seats from another make volvo eg 700,
850, 400 series will fit? Has anyone tried this?
I also need some sports shock absorbers as I am lowering her -40mm. She rides on 17inch
alloys at the moment and I need to stiffen up the handling, I can find everything else apart from
the shocks, I heard Monroe made them but i cant seem to find anywhere in UK that sells them.
This year all body, sound system, interior, suspension, brakes & respray in its original
metallic black will be done, and next year is the 2.3 turbo engine transplant!

you should be able to get sachs or bilsteins pretty easy ! most
places advertise popular shocks like escort but they should be able to order them for you.

Bilstein and Sachs do Shocks? They didnt list them in their catalouges the last time I checked.
Has anyone lowered their 340/360 on here?

Steve at Volvo valley in Derby has a black leather interior for
you - his number is 01773 748324. I have a black body kit off him for my GLT & can't
decide whether to fit it or not. One problem it's for a saloon & mines a hatch, so not a
straight forward fit !!
Sounds like we are both wanting to do an engine swap as well, although I think I'll just stick
with a 2.3 for this year though !!

Cheers mate. Il give him a ring! I am doing the 2.3 turbo swap
next year, as I need to get the body and interior done this year and funds dont permit for
engine swaps, doner cars, ecu wiring etc.
I can see why the body kit might be a problem. The front bumper should fit the same though.
Im not sure if the rear bumpers are different on the salloon or not. The side skirts might fit
though? I was thinking about buying some universal skirts for mine and an 850 bumper and
cutting it down to size.

check the condition out for me and let me know if its ok, he said he might be able to deliver
too.
If I get this interior you can have my GLT interior if yours is a bit tatty? The door cards are
black and the seats are too, the seats are in near mint condition and so are the door cards,
apart from the rear left passenger side one, but if you just want the seats thats fine

Also if you dont want that body kit il buy it off you.
Could you give me a more detailed description etc about the fitment. Im not sure about it but I
think it shouldnt be too much trouble to fit. They are as rare as rocking horse s*** so its worth
having a go I think

Yep, Steve's a really nice chap & easy to deal + he's fair on prices !! I don't think I
need anything interior wise at the moment - mine just needs a good clean with the vax, but
thanks for the offer !
Sounds like we're both in the same position, as I am wanting to do some bodywork as well as
the engine ! Mainly front wings + inner repairs along with front & rear valances & door
bottoms.
Will have a think about the bodykit, but like you say there are very rare & I think I might
regret selling it. The rear overhang on the saloons are a lot longer, which is where the problem
is - I would need to cut & fibreglass it. The sill are the same length, but I think the fixing
holees are in a different position.

I've recently acquired my late Gran's 340 off my brother.
It's a 1989 1.4 340 DL Variomatic, with only 25,500 miles on the clock

Drove it home today, scary - I've only driven it 30miles before, and only around 180miles of non-learner driving in my life! Anyway i'll shutup for now, i guess.
