Hi new to the game 360glt (australia) Help

Post by Aussie Lord » 18 Mar 2011 05:14 am

hi there i have liked volvo for a long time but as they are not a very common car over here and are pricey i have not had alot to do with them but one day seeing a 360glt i said must have one and now have two (always better then one) any here are some pics they are off my phone and cars have been in the shed a good few months. i have one maroon (1984) and blue (1985) and am wondering which engine to go with the turbo or twin cam 16v from the 7/900 series i am figuring that the work would be close to the same with both needing wiring and exhaust mods etc i no dramas playing with turbos as i have been making my own set ups for years or should i just turbo the standard motor as over here the run low compression due to our fuel but the injection system does not look easy to up grade for turbo cheers all

Best appreciated when open.
I probably should have specified ladies legs in there too. [+=] "embarrarrased emoticon"[].com

Welcome!
Always good to see another Aussie 360 around! Where are you from? I've got one of the few remaining in Perth.

A 16V conversion would be interesting :)

Coupla MkII's by the look of it. What's with the extra gauges? Was one of them a project car or something?

I suppose your plan is to build a good car out of the two..... given the price of parts over here, I reckon that's a good idea :)

Being an Engineer I prefer to go for the minimum Engineering approach / least fabrication, so I am putting in a standard 2.3 940 Turbo engine with overboost mods, might flow the turbo exhaust side a bit, seems to be a restriction using 11psi, 360 drive can't take much more than this anyway. The later 940s are the best AFAIK with stronger con rods, piston oil squirter's etc. There are some good threads on this, and there are a number of things to take care of, but mainly you just have exhaust fab to do and mix and match some other Volvo parts.
