Ambient Temp Gauge

Post by Jaspersilus » 07 May 2011 02:21 pm

Hi Chaps,
Im thinking of selling my ambient temp gauge to buy a pair of Foggys boot struts, its new ( 23 years old) in original volvo packaging with all the bits( wire, plug, etc) mark 3.
Any ideas on what it might be worth?
cheers Jason

If you have one, you will be sorry for selling it.

If you have two, one might get broken and you would be sorry for selling one.

If you have three, then you might be ok with selling one, but next day your friend would be buying it for any named price.

That is problem of selling stuff that is no longer available in shops

That smiths one is pretty rare and will need a different sender to the latter VDO one.
It seems to have started cheap though.
The weight involved is practicly nothing so £8 quid for posting is a bit much.
Thats just my thoughts though.
Cheers Mark. sm4

I agree, 8 quid postage is a bit steep, but a lot of people charge a lot for delivery accepting that it may slightly reduce the selling price cos they dont get taxed on postage and packaging.
Talking of postage and packaging, Ive been looking for the key fob bulbs and found them from a US model supplier e5.5 1.5volt bulbs, a very reasonable $1.64 for ten, then postage at $14.58 spoils it!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and my ambient temp gauge is a VDO, not a Smiths, so may not be as valuable as the Smiths one, but more useful for a Mark 3 300!!!!!
Perhaps!!!

I may have to look on the bay for the Smiths one. Wouldn't mind the two extra gauges myself.

I haven't looked, but I've tended to sell an extra gauge set for £50 (so £25 each) when I've got them.

cheers
