That's the state of most 300's mine looked fine on the outside but the inner wings ended up taking 3 weeks of solid work. The box sections hide a lot from the outside too, check your rear damper mounts really carefully, theres 8 or so skins there.

they seemed really solid when I put the landy shocks on although theres a hole behind what I think is the fuel breather tank which is quite close to the strut mounting point. easy fix from the inside when I move the tank out of the way. Got a bit on the chassis both sides near where the rear axle is but got some thick metal box section somewhere so ill clean up the area and weld a plate of it (with plenty of overlap for extra strength) over the area, bung some sealer over the welds and brush on some underseal.

Hate it being off the road coz my runaround (1982 FORD FIESTA 1.1L ECONOMY) is no fun. My mate is gonna sort the hard stuff next Saturday hopefully and im gonna start practicing welding wiv some scrap metal this weekend.

I have to disagree with this, just don't believe it's true. There are a lot more average to rough 300's out there which probably skews things, but you can (relatively easily) find examples with little to no rust in these areas if you try hard enough, even easier with 340's as there's just a lot more about than 360's.
