not bad, is that box mdf or fiberglass. Also If i may make a suggestion... If that amp isnt a D-class, you'd probably be better off mounting it under the driver/passenger seat if it will fit. My main reason for suggesting that is that some amps get hot, and there is an air vent under each of the seats that feeds air to the back. So you will likely have a cooler amp. Only drawbacks about setting it up that way is you possibly will have a hard time adjusting the amp, and second the car may be a bit warmer if its a really hot amp.

Job well done nonetheless, its good to see they are not sony xplode for a change. How are the boss units?

Well spotted Mick, I saw then too, then read your post further down. Special, I can't make out what catch you used for the cavity covers. For my original quickly made one's I used a simple furniture fitting lock system, with spacers, but needing the key became a pain. Then for Micks, which were double sided black/grey laminate, I used glovebox catches, for a more genuine, but alternative look! It's just interesting to know what approach other people take.

BTW Mick, how are they going? Fitting well with the CD Changer on there?

Nice, vinyl even, that box would have been fun to put in, i know mines not exactly light and you got a second sub to keep it nice and light :P

Apparently nothing, they are cheap, have high PEAK ratings, and sony is a good audio company, my objection to them is that most of the try hard civic, excel and pulsar drivers around here have them, and having listened to the duel 12" xplod subs i prefer my setup better and the owner of the duel xplods agreed, also roughly a month later he got rid of them as both started to sound terrible, the cone had sagged or something, and its not the first person that has had the problem. My only problem is the quality of the subs from personal experience and a fair few xplod owners having swapped to another brand sub or amp after a few months, i havn't heard of anything going wrong with the speakers, only the subs and amps.

Cheers Special, I had considered something similar once, then got caught up in the complicated stuff! Is the other side with your amp on hinged? As that side is nasty to get a good fit, I bevelled the edge on mine to achieve a good fit on the side towards the front of the car. I'd like to look at an original to see what they were like! I like the look of that mate, bet it sounds sweet.

Pete , Cavity covers are working fine , keep everything nicely out of site, I have a confession to make to you m8 . was a bit bored last week and put together an mdf parcel shelf , Lets just say it works for now and I will still be interested to see what you come up with.
three sheets of six mm mdf glued and screwed together top one fits in parcel shelf slots (very tight fit ) then other two hang down from there , holes cut for 6x9's and original shelf laid over the top , holes cut in shelf and parcel shelf fitted to the rest by bolts that hold speakers in place, very simple but so far very effective. the JBL 360 GT ( so thats 360's in a 340 LOL ) are absolutely superb and I dont think I will bother with a sub .
total install now stands me at ,head unit £20.00 shuttle £25.00 6x9's £30.00 and mdf etc £10.00 so thats £85.00 altogether

Stuart
do I get the idea you are now going for blue accessories in the car ( dont know what made me think that LOL ) so do you still want the redline seats
?
